One month in, 1000 miles. Man I love this car. There aren’t a lot of people on here who just post “enjoying the Macan, no issues to report”, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the model is a problematic mess. And maybe some people feel that way. I could nit pick a few things, but for someone who was used to driving turbo Golfs , Audi S4s, BMW M3s, and then somehow ended up in Minivan and large SUV land for a decade… such a breath of fresh air.

I took it out in the rain today, no problem with wipers, they work great. Used the heated steering wheel for the first time. Got the ski rack delivered and ready, will put that on next month. Winter wheels ordered, listed my old winter set from the iX.

As I exited the car just now I was marveling at how satisfying the interior door handles feel. They don’t feel mechanical, they require no effort, but at the same time they feel natural if you give it a good pull.

Definitely a unique combo you got there.
That’s a nice way of putting it :). I wasn’t really satisfied with any of the color combos for various reasons. I’m not enamored with the look but I like that it isn’t just a basic looking Macan.

In the end just decided to do something different, it’s a lease after all. The club leather was a must just in terms of leather quality but also value, it was just a few hundred more. I might have gone red or chalk with black inserts, refuse to have full black interior if I can avoid it. The neodyme was just to try something different, and the wheels are going to be swapped out in winter anyway.

I’m officially putting the car into winter mode, and decided to roll some efficiency tests comparing to my iX. Everything is pretty much in line with what you’d expect, no huge surprises, the Macan is not defying physics or introducing some amazing new tech.

Test is a 15 mile freeway loop at 72mph when temperature is between 50°-60°F.

I removed the stock 22” spyder wheels and put on some 20s. Wider than the stock 20s but not as wide as the OEM 22s. I wanted the Alpins but couldn’t find a size that would work without looking stretched, so I got the x-ice. Not an EV specific tire.

Going to the winter tires was pretty much a wash, a negligible loss of efficiency. Adding the ski rack incurs a 16.3% penalty, which is roughly in line with the 16.5% penalty measured on the iX.

I usually take a few ski trips in the winter, the iX had plenty of range for this but the Macan charges much faster so I look forward to that.

I’ve used this ski rack on five different cars and it is almost silent on the Macan. On the e-tron and my X3 it whistled at certain speeds. On the iX it just made a bit of whooshing wind noise, but not bad. On the Macan I can hear it at 40mph or if I listen intently, just a slight white noise, but otherwise I can’t hear it at all.

I have a very similar interior setup as yours including the Burmeister. The addition of the Glacier Blue lettering on the rear hatch was a good choice as the Turbo comes with black lettering that blend into the piano black trim and become invisible.

I ended up buying the blue lettering and installing it myself. Porsche charged me $500 for the seven letters!

Yeah I wasn’t too interested in the black on black. I probably would have opted for the white if it were an option on the Turbo, but I think the blue looks good. Especially in my winter mode.

I ordered my Turbo one year ago when it was a launch model with very few deliveries in Canada. The day I drove out of the dealership, my spouse said she could not see what kind of vehicle I was driving as she followed me back home.

The black on black is almost a "DELETE". The light strip in Glacier was made for the Dolomite Silver colour.

The configurator has many enigmas despite all the YouTube videos on the subject.

For example, you can get "FREE" coloured seat belts if you select the Turbonite colour when ordering a Turbo; the Macan Turbo personalized vehicle key with case in leather does not come with a case. That's right, no case and it's not false advertising, it comes with a clip-on bottom cover that leaves the leather covered key exposed, that's the case. Or one of my favourites, the fixed luggage compartment cover is lined with a dark fabric vs the Race-Tex (Alcantara) which covers the entire car interior by default on a Turbo. One would figure the compartment cover would be in Race-Tex and one would be wrong. The Coloured decorative stitching is another enigma as where the stitching is applied.

Bottom line, the Exclusive Manufactur is a bit of a tough nut to crack.

Hey all, I’ve been a ”fake” member for many months now, and finally became an official member of the Macan EV Owners club. I know I can be a pain in the ass on this forum sometimes, but I do appreciate the support and sharing of information found here. The PEC delivery experience was a bit over the top in terms of fanfare, signing a star, etc, but it was quite fun nonetheless.

We immediately drove it 300 miles on the way home and the plug and charge worked great. 28% - 75% in about 14 minutes at Baker, CA. Driving assist feels like its on rails compared to some others I’ve driven.

Ice grey really doesn’t work In photos, the grey doesn’t come out.

Wow. Beautiful! I’ve seen the color in real life under various levels of sun, shade etc. Great choice. Happy ”motoring”!

Do you change the wheels on your nice car yourself?
If you do, can you please tell me how you do it.
Example if in bullet form
-starts with going in PCM
-uses this jack and these jack pads
-etc, etc
would like to be able to change from winter wheels to summer wheels myself this spring Thanks in advance

Hello Reno,

Here in Montreal, Canada, which is part of the province of Quebec, the law requires all passenger vehicles to change to winter rated tires between 1st Dec to 15 March. This perennial tire swapping causes excessive tire and rim wear & tear and major headaches when most drivers wait until it is too late to have their tires swapped. I purchased a Porsche Winter Wheel kit and do the swap myself on my own time in my heated garage with a 🍺.

The easiest way to go about this is to access your Owner's Manual and search for Jack and Lifting Platform. I have it right in front of me and it gives you all the steps including "Activate jack mode".

My Turbo did not ship with a car jack so I did not get a Head piece that fits into the weird slots for lifting the vehicle.

You will also need a vehicle jack, pad adapters, wheel alignment pins, a breaker bar (unless you want to break your lower back), a torque and socket wrench set and a few Tuborg's.

The Dolomite Silver or GT Silver are classic Porsche colours and my favourite. The GT Silver is not offered on all models but the Domomite Silver usually is part of the no-cost palette on the configurator.

The car looks clean even when not...and when the sun shines, the shades are incredible.

The best Porsche colour of all time for me is: Porsche Diamond Blue Metallic paint. A good friend had a 1987 Porsche 911 in this colour and it was this colour that started my love affair with Porsche's.
