The Multimedia system is very poor for MENA

Hi,
I recently acquired Macan 4, I have many issues with PCM. The Porsche center in my region said it is related to MENA region software issues and they are working on an update with no visibility !:
1- CarPlay connects only by cable . In BMW and even BYD in the same region , CarPlay works wirelessly!
2- when CarPlay is on , Siri doesn’t work
3- when I disconnect the cable , the phone doesn’t connect to the car any more and I have to do the initial set up every time !
4- voice pilot is not functioning !
5- the assistance to changing directions. Is not on the car though it was in the serial equipments !

it is not fun to drive it under these conditions and I really really regret my purchase . I was expecting a company like Porsche to test every aspect of the car within all the regional constraints before putting their product on the market …
very poor experience . I don’t recommend Macan 4 for MENA region since multimedia basics aren’t functioning correctly

Wireless CarPlay is supported. Consult Owner's manual.

Sounds like you haven't been set up fully / correctly with all the services.

I had a 4S all weekend. Logged in with My Porsche ID that I use for my Taycan and everything worked just fine (I don't use Apple).

It should work, it has nothing to do with the region. You don’t have it set correctly.

Unfortunately , it has all to do with region. The car is not connected to a cellular network, which is a policy of the MENA region. The local center said , the multimedia software made for this region is specific to their constraints.
Porsche is working on the upgrade for MENA region with absolutely no visibility. They haven’t even respond with an email to my written complain …

Besides, the same Region constraints apply on BMW and BYD, but still their multimedia system is perfect .

That is said , for the missing functionality , I haven’t receive any excuses from local Porsche Center, not even an appointment with their boss to explain the matter … poor quality and poor customer care

This is the same situation with the Taycan since 2020 where certain functionality within Porsche Connect did not work / were not available.

If true then history shows that there won't be a solution.

I am located in Kuwait and I have the same situation. I’ve traded my Taycan for a 2025 Macan Turbo and though it would have a better infotainment experience. It is actually much worse. With the Taycan at least porsche voice control worked, I can connect to a wifi network, no issues with siri and I used a usb dongle to enable wireless carplay. All these things are not working with the macan. I also have a bmw, an a couple of GM cars with all functionality and connected services working.

I’ve tried 3 different wireless carplay usb dongles on the macan without luck. They all work in my other cars. I think porsche is ignoring our region on purpose, there’s no excuse when all other manufacturers have enabled connectivity services.

The difference in the infotainment system between the taycan and the macan is that the latter is Andriod “automotive” based. I thought that would be a big improvement but for our region it is clearly not.

From my experience with the Taycan most likely nothing will change. If you get any information back from your dealer please update this thread. Thanks.
