The acoustic vehicle warning system is always active. An emotive vehicle sound...
Emotive. So I guess the issue is, it may trigger different emotions in different people.

Really, it's no big deal. I just don't happen to care for it.

Don’t like the low speed safety sound at all, really wish it was silent (or I could elect my sports sound when I wanted). Understand the requirements and logic, definitely better than many other vehicles low speed safety sound …but still find it modestly annoying inside the cabin.
Listen to a Toyota (e.g. Prius Hybrid) next time. Electronic metal screeching. Who thought that would be an ok sound?

I can't seem to find any videos or recordings of the Macan low-speed EV safety sound. I'm not talking about the optional electric sport sound. I mean the sound all EVs make when in drive or reverse and traveling at speeds from 0-20MPH.

My ID.4 isn't terrible, but I don't love it. I know they're for pedestrian safety, but I wish we could turn them off.

Can someone post a video of what that sounds like outside the car? Thanks!
Yeah, I get that they're needed for pedestrians, and, it's a bit annoying. Not a fun sound at all. I did purchase the optional sound package (mostly because my nephew wants to hear the roar), and that's OK but I've only turned it on twice (in 9 months).

My ID.4 isn't the worst sound, but it's louder than I'd like it to be. I've definitely heard some really loud, high pitch, obnoxious safety sounds on some cars.

All ev’s and even hybrids make a low speed sound. Annoying, yes but I’ve almost been run over by near silent cars in parking lots (BMW i8) so I get why they exist.
