nobody knows what the real name is. my bet is since the entire lineup will go EV (allegedly) it will just be Macan, and be branded for marketing as "the new electric Macan"

Looks like Porsche is having second thoughts on replacing Macan with the EV and some news on the Taycan refresh in this article:

I stopped to chat with my SA to show him the Taycan after all the PPF/Tint is complete and asked him if he knows anything about Macan EV and how many people are in line for it, since they had a doctored up picture of it on the door asking customers to get in line. At first, they told me they had 80 people signed up for it, and now my SA said he only has 6 waiting to get the first ones built. He says the enthusiasm faded with all the negative press, delays, price increases and so on, and my wife could not wait any longer and decided to replace her 8-year-old now 2016 Macan with 2024 Macan, which surprisingly was available as an allocation immediately, with a discount, locked on 7/13 and TYD showing 8/16 build and 10/2 delivery. The only thing that is not available and by all accounts never returning to the ICE Macans is the Electric Steering Column. I think we will see the EV version at the LA show this fall as more recent posts show it testing in the US without the fake exhaust pipes and then it will be fun to play with the configurator.
