Adaptive air suspension as an optional extra at £2064 …. This is a car I’m ordering for my wife … likely to get 15,000 mile per annum as a replacement for her ICE Macan 4S …. Likely to be in 21 Design rims

I’m querying if it’s worth the £2000+ any views?

(I’m used to Taycan Turbo also in 21” after previously Taycan 4S on 20” - the Turbo suspension has been fabulous on the brutally heavy Taycan when adjusted to “Sport” mode …. On Comfort setting is was pretty floaty bordering on dangerous when driven in moderate anger!

I have been on the Taycan forum for years with all or most of the 2WD people with steel suspension saying they are perfectly happy. All the people with Air Sus (including me!) say it is essential but I have not seen a post where someone says the steel suspension is rubbish.

I still scuff my Taycan spoiler on LIFTED sometimes and that's higher than Taycan steel sus.
I also thought that my Taycan on Air Sus would handle better than steel . I have however, never put that to the test. It has been a cruiser.
Unlike you I find SPORT uncomfortable. NORMAL (Comfort) has been perfect for British roads and I have never sensed anything remotely 'floaty' about the car

I am replacing it with a Mac 4 which will be a cruiser with no pretentions as a track day car.
I think Porsche will have tuned the suspension just fine for my cruising and I dont need LIFT of course as the Mac 4 has more ground clearance than even a Cross Turismo in LIFT mode.

I would not trust any manufacturers Steel Suspension on a 2.5 tonne electric car except PORSCHE

At a minimum you should consider PASM to which you can optionally add Air (this makes the price of air £1,100).

Personally I would always add air (have it on my wife's Macan T). I've always had air on all my Porsches (except 981 Boxster S where it wasn't an option). Since 2003 I've had this option and so wouldn't deviate but appreciate there is a cost. The Porsche EVs are very heavy and almost all have air suspension - this tells it's own story.

Forgo 21" rims for Air.
