I chose to save a few dollars to use on other options and ordered the standard wheel. I liked the better dashboard visibility and thought it was slightly more comfortable, although I do prefer the look of the GT sport wheel.
Was afraid to post this since I know most Porsche owners prefer the GT...
Why not take the car now that the wait is over? Were you worried about it being exposed to the elements at the port for an extended period of time or that there are still outstanding defects?
Regardless, I’m sure others will be happy to buy it from the dealer since the Turbo is currently in...
No sure if they would be damaged but would become hard as rock in low temperatures which make them dangerous to drive in the winter, particularly in icy conditions.
Thanks for the great detailed review! I too was torn between the Taycan and the Macan EV. Wanted a sportier car (Taycan) but also wanted the latest tech and versatility of a compact SUV (e.g., tow hitch option for bike rack on the Macan). Ultimately ordered the Macan 4S considering the $35K...
My bad… those are the 21” Design wheels. Btw, the 20” wheels have the monochrome logo unless you choose the $190 colored center cap option.
I agree with the previous post that the 20” S wheels which are standard on the 4S help justify the cost to upgrade from the Macan 4.
Unfortunately I don’t know exactly when my VIN was available since I don’t get very frequent status updates from my SA. After asking for an update, I received my VIN on 10/14 but it could have been available much earlier.
My 4S was ordered on 8/28 with a freeze date of 9/16. Production was completed on 10/24 and delivery in NC is expected on 11/22.
We’ll see if the delivery date holds given the software delays others have experienced with the 4 and Turbo.
Apparently the illuminated aluminum doors sills did not delay the (US) build of my Macan. I just heard from my SA that production of my 4S will be completed by tomorrow.
I agree with the other statements above. I didn’t need all of the aesthetic options included with the Turbo so it was difficult for me to justify the additional $15K expense.
On the other hand, it was an easy decision for me to upgrade from the 4 to 4S since I got a boost in horsepower and it...
Congrats on your new Turbo and thanks for the review! I too previously drove a Model S as well as a Model Y.
Just out of curiosity, why do you like pedal lag? One of the features I loved about the Tesla was instant acceleration which was quite useful in many situations.
Probably not a good idea to buy a completely new vehicle/platform if you don’t want to experience any glitches while the manufacturer works out the kinks. I was a very early adopter when Tesla released their first Model S and Model Y and fully expected issues, but I was willing to deal with them...
Beyond the additional horsepower and all wheel drive, the 4 also adds active suspension management. (Correction: The base model does have air suspension in the U.S.) For these reasons, the Atlanta PEC strongly recommended upgrading to the 4.
Nevertheless, if you’re trying to save money and...
What’s the best way to resolve the seat belt rattle — adding a seat belt clip, sticking soft material on back of seatbelt, or third-party seatbelt cover?
I ordered the 14-way seats so I could get the massage function as well. At the Atlanta PEC, the driver showed how the different massage functions are set via the main screen. Perhaps you could program the diamond button to turn it on and off if you use it frequently.
@Senna, congrats on your...
I guess the EPA range estimates have been released for the 2025 4S and RWD Macan EVs since most of these reviews report a range of 288 for the 4S and 315 for the RWD. The 4S range is disappointing since I assumed that it would be in between the 4 and the turbo at 298 miles rather than the same...
