POLL - Assist Issues FINALLY Fixed?!? NEW Assist Disable Menu

You think pressing buttons on the screen is more intuitive than two physical buttons on the steering wheel/steering column?

POLL - Assist Issues FINALLY Fixed?!? NEW Assist Disable Menu

But that looks more onerous than the Macan. I have to make two inputs in my Macan; one press of the diamond button, and one long press on the LKA button under the cruise control stalk. That looks like you'd have to make three presses on the screen.

Do UK Porsche Centres ever offer a choice of registration number?

This is the best example I've heard where COVID has been used as an excuse to not do something.

Do UK Porsche Centres ever offer a choice of registration number?

I've only bought a handful of cars in the UK, all BMWs, but was given a choice of registration numbers from the selection they had. Sounds like your dealer couldn't be bothered.

EV Newbie planning first reasonable distance trip (UK)

Glad you had a successful trip. It'll get even easier as you travel more. I do a lot of long distance driving, and I even have my favourite unit at certain charge stops. You'll build up knowledge of where to charge and you won't even need to plan that much. You'll also get to know your car and...

EV Newbie planning first reasonable distance trip (UK)

Right, so this is how *I* would approach a trip like this. * Manchester to Cirencester (for example) is 148 miles, so you could make it there on a full charge, no problem, even in freezing temperatures. * I would ask myself, "will I be able to charge at my destination, and if so, will it be to...

EV Newbie planning first reasonable distance trip (UK)

Hi What is your actual origin and destination (roughly)? Manchester to? Might be useful to demonstrate what *my* strategy would be on your road trip. First of all, I think you'll quickly learn how to strategise charging on long journeys as soon as you've done it once or twice. It's actually...

Is chrono plus really necessary on the Turbo?

I seem to remember a video (probably Kyle), where a Porsche engineer confirmed it has heating of the battery. Based on owning a Taycan RWD and a Taycan GTS, I think the Macan Turbo charges slightly quicker. This is a rough observation. I even saw 272 kW being pulled from an Ionity last week...

Is chrono plus really necessary on the Turbo?

Whether it does or not, that isn't "manually" preheating the battery. It would be a side effect of putting the car in Sports Plus mode. "Manually" preheating the battery would only be if there is a dedicated button which activates preheating, like there is in my i5. It's madness that there isn't...

Is chrono plus really necessary on the Turbo?

Not standard in the Netherlands; it's a €800+ option, which is shameful on a Turbo. I specced it because it's kind of pointless getting the Turbo if I'm going to penny-pinch on performance items. May as well get a RWD or 4S in that case.

    Porsche Charging Service Plus email

I picked a random AC charger in London to demonstrate how the app works. I'm not recommending it as a place to charge. Indeed, after four hours you then start getting charged per minute as an overstay fee. These chargers are clearly better for Porsche PHEVs.

    Porsche Charging Service Plus email

Did you try starting the charge from within the Porsche app, as in not scanning the QR code, just finding the charger in the Porsche app and pressing "start for a fee"?

    Porsche Charging Service Plus email

For people who have no choice because they sold their Taycan and switched to a new Macan, such as me, the email is not so much an "offer", but the announcement of a price cut, which is very welcome. I would now consider Fastned and other DC chargers as my second choice after Ionity. The new...

    Porsche Charging Service Plus email

It literally tells you what is different to before. The price per kWh has dropped from £0.54 to £0.44 per kWh when charging at AC chargers, and from £0.74 to £0.59 per kWh when charging at DC chargers (other than those that are part of the preferred network which remain £0.39 per kWh). You...

Real consumption / range / efficiency thread … post your Macan EV performance 📊

Yeah, I like to provide a service. Maybe that's what has been happening. It's certainly very accurate based on my one week of driving.

What is the little symbol of the car over a triangle?

What speed were you doing when trying to lift it? Above a certain speed it won't let you lift it. And if you set off in normal, above a certain speed it will automatically lower it.

Real consumption / range / efficiency thread … post your Macan EV performance 📊

One-week-old Macan Turbo here, on 22" RS Spyder rims. I did a 1,700km trip a few days ago during some, admittedly, pretty cold weather (temperatures continuously between -3 degrees Celsius and +1 degree Celsius). It was 99% motorway driving at 120km/h (75mph). The figures are calculated based...
