Just got an email today about “The Porsche Charging Service is now even more attractive”.

No idea what is different from before but those, who like me, can only charge at public chargers, where do you get this £0.54 → £0.44 /kWh rate?
The cheapest AC public chargers for me are ubtricity street light poles, and they are at 49p at the cheapest off-peak rate!

Porsche in the UK has done a deal with Ionit’s where Ultra charging costs about 50%. You get a similar deal at Porsche Centres - article here -https://www.porsche.com/uk/aboutporsche/e-performance/charging-bev/

They waive the monthly subscription for 3 years. IONITY charge £ 10 / month for non-Porsche owners to get the same price -

As a Taycan or Macan electric customer, not only will you receive subscription-free access to the Porsche Charging Service Plus for 3 years’, you can also enjoy discounted pricing (£0.39 p/kWh) at the IONITY ultra-rapid charging network, Porsche Centre DC chargers or Porsche Charging Lounges.

I've had the same email saying more compnies had joined apart from Ionity and Porsche centres. Clicked the link but nothing to be found. Hopefully hear more in the coming days

All Porsche EV owners will get the email.

This is not a great offer for 99% of the target audience and the old service (still active for many Taycan owners) is a better deal.

Use the My Porsche App - Map - Show Charging - those listed will be encompassed within the Porsche Charging Service. For each EVSE you will get details on charges. Expect many EVSEs not to be listed (it is regularly updated in the App and in the PCM) but at least you'll know on your routes which one(s) to target.

Best deal is Ionity - no block charge and after that it's home charging.

Use My Porsche App to find...Porsche won't tell you!

Map --> Charging --> set your filters --> see what's listed --> tap one for details of pricing, charging and how to start a charge (RFID, P&C, PAYG etc).

Yes, its that simple.

Full pricing per country is in the app - Charging Service --> scroll right to Prices - you have to find the AC EVSE yourself (not sure why you would prefer that over DC).

There is no Ionity charger near me in London, and the Porsche DC chargers at Porsche Centre West London are out of service, and often.
I have used Ionity often but only on long journeys en route where available.

It literally tells you what is different to before. The price per kWh has dropped from £0.54 to £0.44 per kWh when charging at AC chargers, and from £0.74 to £0.59 per kWh when charging at DC chargers (other than those that are part of the preferred network which remain £0.39 per kWh).

You still don't seem to understand how Porsche Charging Service works despite explaining this to you in another thread on 1st January.

https://www.macanevowners.com/forum/threads/plug-charge-uk-not-many-places-to-use-yet….18519/page-2#post-279898

Forget about whatever price is advertised on the charger. If you start your charge with the Porsche card, or via the Porsche app, you are charged the PORSCHE rate. If the charger is shown in the Porsche app, or appears in the sat nav, then it means it's part of the Porsche charging network. If you go to an Ionity charger, the rack rate Ionity charge is £0.74 per kWh, but that is irrelevant to you. If you start the charge with your Porsche Charging Card, or via P&C, or via the Porsche app, you will pay £0.39 per kWh, and its Porsche who bill you at the end of the month, not Ionity. This applies to all chargers that are part of the Porsche Charging Service. Just do a search in the Porsche app for chargers and click on one. It tells you the price. I've just searched for a random AC charger in Central London, and the new prices are already showing...

For people who have no choice because they sold their Taycan and switched to a new Macan, such as me, the email is not so much an "offer", but the announcement of a price cut, which is very welcome. I would now consider Fastned and other DC chargers as my second choice after Ionity. The new prices are just about palatable.

Interesting that the monthly fee has dropped from the ridiculous price of £29.99 to £13.99. Clearly they'd lost their mind with their initial prices.

The full new price list valid from 14th January is here...

@Throb
I have used Ionity charging for Porsche en route on long journeys and I know how it works at the discounted rate of £0.39, and I have I also used it when I had BMW i4 (it was even cheaper then at £0.26). This is not I wanted to know, but thanks anyway.
And indeed you explained Ionity and using the Porsche Charge Card on 1st January as well (even though what I said was something different, ie “Porsche charging card you can also use on other chargers too where credit cards are accepted” ). ;)

However, what I really wanted to know was simply where the AC charging rate of £0.44 is available. And that is, as you said, is available on some AC chargers like ubtricity. Thanks for that new info, and I just tried that at ubtricity street pole charger and scanned through the Porsche App, but it says: “The QR code is not compatible, please use another authentication method”.

So, it appears at ubtricity street pole chargers, I can only use when using ubtricity app, scanning QR code through their App as I have done before, but their off-peak rate is £0.49.
By the way, it was the same “The QR code is not compatible...” message when using my previous BMW app for ubtricity charging. So, always ended up using ubtricity app to scan QR code, and paying ubtricity charging rates.
