Every other car I've owned, that supported MP3 playback, sorted by filename. So all my MP3s are in the format YYYY ~ Artist ~ Song, e.g. "1964 ~ The Beatles ~ If I Fell". However, the current version of the PCM software instead sorts by song name (read from metadata), and if you manually select...
Well the 15 minute target is just plain wrong and nonsense. You were charging at 121 kW at the time and wanted to add 48% of usable capacity. Total usable is 95 kW-h so you wanted to add around 46 kW-h. If we incorrectly pretend the car would consistently charge at 121 kW then that would take 23...
Yeah, I think an EV 911, or 718 or any other small sport coupe, is unrealistic. The batteries would make the car very heavy, and the car would have relatively low range if they keep it similar to its current size. EVs work very well for larger cars like the Macan or Taycan.
Tesla has...
I have the 4S and it's way more efficient than I expected. I typically drive 85 mph indicated on highways (137 kph), though I haven't done any long trips so driving has been mixed, and I've consistently been averaging 3.0 miles/kWh (around 21 kWh/100km). I averaged only 2.5 mi/kWh in my GV60...
I tried one of the ones from Amazon but will be returning them. They were easy to put on, but the back side of them looks really sloppy, and that's the side you see and touch when buckling in. But possibly it can be fixed with double-sided tape or a touch of adhesive...
My dealer, Porsche of Carlsbad (in SoCal), did not take any deposit when placing my order. Really surprised me actually. Deposits are required by law in CA to be fully refundable but it's definitely more relaxing not needing to place one. They also did not run a credit check (I know because it...
You're talking about the pedestrian warning sound, which normally is only required below 14 mph or something like that, unless that's changed. On my previous two EVs there is a fuse dedicated to it, which I pulled to silence it. I will see if that's possible for the Macan.
I just picked up my 4S without the sound option since I like it quiet (aside from music), but there is what sounds very much like an artificial sound when accelerating/braking. It might just be the pedestrian warning sound but even at 30+ mph it still occurs.
If there is an artificial sound...
I suspect people just aren't aware of their charger's limitations. Like, my 8-year-old charger at home is rated for 32A continuous and is 240V of course. 240*32 = 7.7 kW. So, for me, it makes no difference what car I'm charging because it would never be able to charge at more than 7.7 kW unless...
While parked but with the car on, open the door and turn the steering wheel all the way. You should be able to see the rear wheels turning (up to +/- 5 degrees). It reduces turn radius by about 10% so not huge, but something.
My understanding, from briefly talking with a dealer, is that this isn't merely a software update; it's a hardware update too, which is why the dealers are waiting on parts.
Thanks Wawando, but I'm more curious about what it looks like on a US-market car, because my understanding is Tesla patented the features so nobody else can have such a display here. Which is why I was surprised OP reported his US-spec car having it working.
I'm surprised that you say the display showed surrounding traffic because I asked a salesman about it and he thought all features of that screen were disabled for the US market. And certainly on my current car (GV60) every feature is disabled.
Can you have a passenger take a cellphone video of...
