Hi everyone,

I wanted to share an issue I experienced and see if anyone else has encountered something similar.

I have a 2025 Macan EV with about 10,000 miles. Last night the car was charging at home on AC using the included Porsche mobile charger connected to a NEMA 14-50 outlet. During the charging session, I received a notification from the Porsche app that charging was interrupted.

When I went to check the car, it was displaying multiple system and electrical errors. I let the car sit overnight, but the next morning the errors were still present and the car was not drivable:
  • Unable to shift into Drive or Reverse, only Park and Neutral
  • Multiple electrical systems not functioning properly (Electronic door mechanisms, interior lighting, etc…)
  • Charging still unavailable

The vehicle had to be towed to the Porsche service center.

One additional data point that may or may not be related: around the same time charging stopped, the NEMA 14-50 outlet had lost power. My building maintenance later noted that several breakers had tripped in the garage and needed to be reset. After power was restored, the outlet worked again, but the car did not recover and continued to show the same errors.

The car is currently at Porsche for diagnosis. I am curious if other Macan EV owners have experienced:
  • Charging interruptions followed by widespread electrical errors
  • Loss of Drive or Reverse selection
  • Power steering assist failures
  • Issues related to AC charging, power interruptions, or the 12V or DC-DC systems
It appears that there may have been a brief minor power outage in the garage of my building which caused charging to be interrupted, with the car being unable to recover. If this ends up being the case it’s extremely concerning - EVs must be able to recover from any kind of charging interruption. The possibility that my car was bricked due to this is a serious issue that makes me really worried about owning this car.

I will update the thread once the dealer provides more information. Any similar experiences or insights would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I too own a 2025 Macan 4 ev that is experiencing the same problem that you described. My vehicle was towed to the dealer last week and it still in the shop. I'm glad you got your vehicle back and hopefully this problem won't happen again. But it is very concerning that it could be a reoccurring issue if Porsche does not have a concrete solution.

Did you ever contact Porsche USA to find out your options?

Sorry you're experiencing this problem. It was incredibly frustrating, but I haven't had any major issues since it was repaired (except for random self-resolving error messages from time to time).

I did contact Porsche USA. They were responsive, helpful, and willing to work with me on finding a suitable resolution that helped to restore my confidence in the brand. I am unable to speak to specifics due to the contract that I was asked to sign as part of the resolution- but I will say it's worth opening a case, keeping communication constructive, and when it comes down to it advocating for what you think you need in order to feel comfortable continuing with the vehicle and brand.

Why are you always commenting on and antagonizing my posts? You're truly an insufferable asshole. It was 100% Porsche's fault. Happy to share the service documents - not sure why you think I would waste my time lying when I'm just here trying to provide useful updates and data points to others who may experience the same problem.

The contract that I was asked to sign was in regards to the goodwill offer provided by PCNA. They recognized the severity of the issue, took responsibility, and provided goodwill as a result. Part of the contract included a clause not to disclose specifically the goodwill offer that was provided.

Fuck off and bother someone else with your nonsense.

Sharing the end to end experience starting with the mechanical failure through to the resolution is a pretty normal thing that people do on this forum, you absolute moron.

Then someone asked about contacting PCNA so I shared my experience with that. You’re literally one of the dumbest people I have ever interacted with on the internet -you’re completely pathetic and unhinged.

Not going to feed the trolls anymore. Hope you choke. đź–•

I don't get why you're hell-bent on negating these experiences.

It's very clear that a lot of people are having issues with this car.

When you look at the Audi Q6 e-tron, it seems even worse.

In my experience, almost every Porsche and Audi EV owner I meet at DC charging stations complain that something is wrong with their car.

In my experience, almost every Porsche loaner I've been given has had some issues, from minor warnings to major problems, like having a Taycan transported back to the dealer from my driveway.

In my experience, service departments are often lazy and incompetent.

In my experience, Porsche HQ is neither responsive nor helpful.

When I read posts like this, I'm not surprised at all and I don't assume they pay off clients to "get rid of them" I think they do it because some cars are really not what you should expect from them (or any other car brand for that matter).

i am not "hell bent" on anything. and of course there are problems with the new porsche platform. i criticize that the starter suddenly stated that he got "compensated " and does not tell why and how. his answer has been that he signed an nda. and a lot of insults..
