I also looked also to the iX, indeed a great car but the platform is already out for a few years and I prefer a 'new' platform. But to be honest I only did drive the i5
The Rattle is easily fixed by just moving the metallic buckle up end letting it rest in the indent thereNice to meet you all!
I’m a long-time Porsche enthusiast, having driven various 911 models over the years (964, 993, and currently a 991.2). For everyday use, I recently added a Macan to my garage just before Christmas, and have already clocked 2,400 km on the odometer.
Before this, I was driving different electrical cars; recent an Audi e-tron, and prior to that, a Tesla Model S. My shortlist for a new car included the BMW i5, Audi Q6 e-tron, and the Macan. Here’s why I ultimately chose the Macan:
That said, there are a few things I’ve noticed that could be improved:
- The BMW i5 didn’t feel like a true EV; I wasn’t a fan of the new interior design, and it sat too low for practical everyday use.
- While the Q6 e-tron and Macan share the same platform, driving them back-to-back revealed clear differences. The Macan excels in handling and offers superior interior quality and aesthetics.
- Most other electric cars / brands look the same to me, large screens, but not real 'driver' cars.
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and tips!
- The charge ports aren’t flush.
- On longer drives (>100 km), there’s noticeable condensation on the windows.
- There’s a rattle from the seatbelts.
- The iPhone charging speed is quite slow.
Do not want to hijack, but I do understand that the Neue Klasse is tempting, but 800v is not the holy grail, many stalls are shared and so efficiency is more important. New iX will be launched next month, better seats, better efficiency and a tad larger battery … tempting …I also looked also to the iX, indeed a great car but the platform is already out for a few years and I prefer a 'new' platform. But to be honest I only did drive the i5
The part where you can move the seatbelt up or down has a kind of an indent (deukje). The buckle will stay theee and wont ratlle anymore. But how to keep the buckle up? there is no 'clip' on the belt.
