Can each fob be linked to the 1-2-3 door codes (seat/mirror positions)?

I've tried looking in the owner's manual online but not having any luck finding it.

Also, does a fob get linked to a driver profile? Right now we're only using one driver profile (we have 2 drivers but want the same settings for both, other than using 2 different fobs, phones, and seat settings). It's hard enough at this point getting all the settings customized the way we want in one profile.

The M1/M2/M3 buttons are 3 manual settings for the seat/mirrors/steering column.
They are independent of any profile/key.
I suggest if you have 2 drivers each select your key, you then have to assign that key to your profile (make sure you each have your own profile).
Then set your sea/mirrors/steering/car/infotainment/etc. setting to what you like them and when finished save them to your profile.
Do not mix profiles/keys ever again (carry only the drivers key in the car) and in hteory you should have no issues.
If still unclear as an example if you save your seating position in your profile (we will name this as D1 for Driver 1) and then select any of the 3 M1/M2/M3 but do NOT save thsi position to your profile, next time you enter the car the seat will move to D1.

Thanks.

How do we link a fob to the driver profile? I probably just missed it, but I looked all over the settings within the profile.

Also, is there a simple way to copy all the same settings from one profile to another? Or will it just start them up from where they were last left (i.e. from the last profile that was selected)?

Carrying only 1 fob in the car is a problem. We both each carry our own fob in our pockets all the time, even when both of us are on the car. If it can't sort out who's in the driver seat, then 2 fob-linked profiles won't work for us.

Currently with just one profile (my partner's), when I get in to drive I have to press and hold the #2 door button for 5 seconds to get the seats/mirrors back to my positions. That's why I was hoping to link the #2 button to my fob.

No the buttons cannot be linked to a fob or profile.
If you looked and there is no setting to link the fob to profile or save your settings it means this is done automatically when locking the car.
I set up my car the day I got it with 2 fobs/2 profiles but can't remember the procedure as I haven't messed with it again. I will check when I get a chance.
What I do remember is when we entered car with 2 fobs all hell broke loose, maybe me manually selecting the profile made it worse.
I am now intrigued to test how it works but if there is no manual save setting, it means if you select M2 and lock the car with your fob, next time you enter the car seat will move to M2 as it will have autosaved that position when locking the car so while M2 does not equal your fob / profile specifically, the position if you do not change it again becomes yours in a way.
Do the same with M1 for the other fob.
Now if both fobs are near car and you use the keyless function (or whatever it is called in Porsche land) I imagine there will always be a 50% possibility of this going your way or the other. There is no way of knowing with key unlocked/locked the car.

It's possible there's a setting and I'm just looking in the wrong place. I think this will just be another in the long list of "just have to keep playing with it to figure out what the car will and won't do" things. We've only had it 11 days and it may take 11 months to sort it all out.

We set up 2 profiles upon delivery too, but a few days later I deleted them and started over with just one (primary driver) profile because it was so frustrating how it would keep flip-flopping the settings (or even go to settings that weren't in either profile, like a low steering wheel when getting in). Seems to be working better with just a single profile now.

I had similar issues with the Mach-E we've had for 4 years now. I turned driver profiles off altogether and it works much better that way. Everything just stays the way it was last left, which is exactly what we want. Except for seats/mirrors/phone. But in the Mach-E the seats mirrors can be linked to the fob that enters the driver seat. Also, the 1-2-3 button are one-touch, not hold-for-5-seconds. Minor annoyance, I know, but if we have to do it nearly everytime we enter the car, well...

Lots to sort out still.

Yeah, I have had a similar issue with flip-flopping profiles though my wife keeps using the same key fob as me instead of grabbing the other one on the rare occasions she drives it. It's super annoying to have the seats and mirrors reset to her position for me though and it'd be great if there were a manual way to do the assignment so that this doesn't happen.

I guess the "manual way" would be considered using the 1-2-3 door buttons. Those do seem to work OK, it's just a bit annoying to have to hit those when getting in the car each time (or many times, at least). And that you have to hold the button down until it finishes all the mirror/seat moves (seems more cheap-car than expensive-car).

But maybe I'm just not doing it all right yet. Every car has it's quirks and different ways of doing things. This one is more foreign (in multiple ways I guess ) than I'm used to and I'm not finding it very intuitive.

No, that’s what I have to do too and I agree that it seems “cheap”. My old car, while it didn’t have profiles, also didn’t have the issue. It just worked with the appropriate key fob and a single press if needed (but then my wife actually used her own key fob for that one, lol).

Hi
This is my only issue with the Macan: the profile management is unreliable.

I had to delete both our profiles and started again and have got things into a fairly reliable state where my key picks my profile and sets HUD, colour, seat, etc. and my wife's key applies hers.

I say 'fairly' because occasionally when we both get in, it picks the wrong profile and there is only the one key in the car at the time (so I think the phones influence this confusion).

The dropdown will state it is on one profile, and when you click to change it the blocks on the following screen show it is actually on the other! And if you dare to click to change the profile (to the one the dropdown says it is on) the system crashes/locks up.

For the most part it works now though, with our main gripe being it ALWAYS picks the wrong phone to use for android auto. It picks the correct phone for phone calls, etc. if you look under devices, but will pick the other phone for the auto functionality...drives us nuts :)

Hopefully the September 2025 update I have read about will fix these issues.

I'm running into a lot of that too. Sometimes it links one phone, sometimes the other. Sometimes it changes the seats/mirrors, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes one mirror changes and the other doesn't.

Another thing that drives me up the wall is the SiriusXM favorites. Sometimes the seek buttons will scroll only between my favorites (as it should), other times it ignores favorites and just scrolls through all channels (which on SXM is a PITA). This car drives great, but the software is an exercise in frustration.

I still don't understand how the fob is supposed to get linked to a profile. Are we suppose to believe that it just "remembers" automatically somehow? From what/how/when? I haven't found any documentation on it in the owners manual. There needs to be an explicit way in the PCM to link/assign them.
