Just picked up my Macan 4S and am loving it so far... except for one thing: I play FLAC music files via m3u playlists on a USB-C key, and the playlist starts and plays fine but refuses to continue playing after I get out of the car and back in again. It automatically starts just playing random songs from the entire drive, and I have to restart the playlist. None of my 911s (multiple generations) have behaved like this. Anyone else experience this as well? I've searched everywhere, including the manual, and there's no mention of this "feature". Thanks!

Also, if you are on shuffle, that has to be turned off then on again, otherwise it only shuffles the set of tunes it previously played.

Thanks for the heads-up, Argelius. You're right, I'm experiencing the same thing but hadn't noticed it until you pointed it out.

One other thing I've noticed since my first post: I cannot seem to add playlists to Favorites (which can be put on the custom home screen for quick access) like I used to. Has anyone found a way to add playlists to Favorites?

On a tangential note, I primarily listen to music via the USB infotainment center function in my car, with flac files on an SSD. Question: if I plugged my Sony DAP into the car, instead, would there be a noticeable difference in sound quality?

i just started playing from a USB. But i don't use playlist...I just put the "album" or whatever, in their own individual folder...so it will continue in that folder ever time i go back to USB music....

I know this is an old thread but I too get a strange behavior. I have Classical, Jazz, and Rock folders on my USB memory stick. I have also created random playlists of all my Rock folders and create 15 .m3u files. When playing one of these playlists I will get songs that are not in the .m3u file. I hadn’t paid attention to if it occurred after the car picked up playing again. Sounds similar to the original post. I will try restarting the playlist as mentioned. Never had this behavior in my Audi’s.

I notice that USB media functions have been slowly dropped over recent decades, both in cars and home theater. Just not that much demand. I guess the expectation is most everyone with diverse tastes uses a Music provider subscription.

Media management for both my 3 year old BMW and this Macan has been severely neutered from vehicles I purchased a decade ago. My new Marantz receiver provides little function.

For the BMW, I resorted to a few flat file USB sticks each with different genres. For the Macan I just have a single favorites USB stick (maybe a thousand songs, mixed compatible formats mostly FLAC) and it just reliably chugs through them one by one, always starting from where it left off. Works surprisingly well for me, but really really old school. I miss the pause and fast forward functions, however,

If I want to listen to a specific song or artist or album or playlist i resort to Apple Music via carplay.
