Can't reverse looking backwards

Ok, so my Macan4 slams on the brakes and shifts to P when I am in reverse and turn to look out the rear window.

does it sense my looking away?
Does it force me to use the camera display?

There may be an occupancy sensor, sensing driver's weight. May need adjustment, most modern cars do this now days.

Yup! Unless you have your seat belt on. A pain in the neck when you just want to move your car in the driveway or bank the boat down the ramp. I couldn't find a way to back up without the problem you mentioned with the seat belt off.

Think it will do that if foot is not touching the break pedal.

Sounds like you need to clip the seat belt on and then sit on top of it.
