Color change PPF

I’m curious how many people have done a full color change PPF out there? Specifically, if you have, how did the shop handle the mirrors?
I have one shop saying they would remove the mirrors and have the Porsche software to reprogram it if need be. This scares me!
The other shop says they will use the “birthing method” where the cut a hole in the PPF and use a heat gun to get it around the mirror and keep it tight on the body to hide any of the previous color.
How many people have done color change PPF’s and how did your shop handle the mirrors?

I had PPF installed and the shop told me they would take off the mirrors and emblems, then reinstall them. I don’t know if there was any reprogramming necessary, I seriously doubt it. I had a alarm set up in case the car left the proximity of the shop, and it never left to go to the nearby Porsche Center and they wouldn’t have had the tools or knowledge to do it themselves on a brand new model.

Did you change colors or put a clear PPF on?

Clear PPF. But my comment about the mirrors and emblems would apply to your situation as well.

I'll vinyl wrap to chane the colour to some of my 4S parts immediately after delivery in approx 3 months.One of the parts are the mirrors however I need to change the color only for the upper part,photo showing.None of the shops I talked to told me there's gonna remove the mirrors in order to do it.Maybe because I'm interested only for half the mirror? Have really no idea,but the mirrors will stay in place.

Removal of the mirrors is only being considered to ensure there is no visible gap at the base of the mount where it meets the door.

Thaks!Yeah,I hope wll look the same (or even better ?) as in the configurator!Frozen Blue looks similar with Gulf Blue so the Gulf Orange pairs wonderfully with it.
