The testing Edmunds did is standard for all cars they review, not just sports cars. Things like 0-60 and skid pad are reported by all the car magazines for all cars.
While the tone of the review was negative, it was based on facts. You can buy a less expensive EV SUV that has better performance figures than a 4 for a lot less money. But, that is true in all segments and people get to choose what car best meets their needs and wallet.
I have a Taycan 4S and a Model Y AWD LR. They each have their pros and cons and I bought them for different reasons and uses. I am considering a Macan EV to replace the Taycan and there are pros and cons of that choice. I will continue to follow this forum to see how things shake out with the Macan EV and software issues. I bought a ā21 Taycan and seem to have avoided many of the ā20 Taycan issues. Based on this forum, early Macan EVs are also suffering from a range of software issues, from major to minor. One of the two Macan EVs I drove recently had a warning about assistance systems being inoperable but the car was still drivable. I donāt know if that error corrected when the car was restarted.
