From a BMW i4 to a Macan 4 - here's my comparison after 10 days......

Are you kidding me?? The OP posted a long list of detailed real complaints. I added a few more. Just because you may not think they count doesn't mean we and others don't think they do.

As for suggesting we didn't test drive the car and check out numerous YouTube reviews... you couldn't be more wrong. But it's ridiculous to suggest that means we previewed every function in the PCM and every button in the car. A 15 minute test drive gives you a feel for how the car drives, how comfortable it is, and a few more basics. That's it. You have to take some things for granted, like the fact that a $100k car should have a UI that's at least as functional as a $50k car. Just because it says "Porche" doesn't mean the software should be bad, or have poorly designed convenience options.

Lastly, this is a car forum. The purpose of a car forum is to post comments about the car. Those comments may be questions (hoping others can offer constructive answers), or complaints, or praise, or pretty much any comment about the car. Most people are helpful and friendly. But there always seems to be that one...

porsche gives the car for as many day long test drives as you need. 15 minutes? are you really talking about porsche ?

as long you do not tell what the problems are qualifying “subpar” or not even as functional “as a 50k car”, nobody can help you.

I don't know why I'm bothering to reply to someone like you (you'll be going on ignore soon like I do for all trolls), but I registered for the forum a few days before we decided to buy to check out some of the comments and concerns from helpful people. You know, like what the forum is supposed to be for. I didn't update the profile yet after we purchased the car early this week. Sorry that doesn't meet your standards.

oh ok now i understand your problems

- The parking button not registering, I have lost count on the near misses of my other car or walls
- CarPlay disconnects
- small buttons hard to press while driving, ok when you are stationary but getting to the radio for example is a chore
- warnings all over the place of assistance items not working, yeah they clear eventually, but why are they appearing in the first place.
- the seat belt drives me nuts, and I’m not alone
- seat position, I have reprogrammed it to my key dozens of times and yet if my wife has driven it, it sometimes decides to squish me against the steering wheel …

These are items I see being repeated over and over again, these are bugs and there are plenty of more but I’m to lazy to write them down @Petzi if you think we should adapt to the Porsche philosophy …


Some personal annoyance‘s … not really bugs
- lack of reporting in the app on smartphone, the app is worse then a v0.1 (maybe that is the Porsche philosophy, but trip reporting, consumption stats etc in the BMW seem from another planet)
- in car stats about consumption, like in the app in the car it’s none existent except km’s driven and average consumption
- HUD, in the iX you can select radio stations … really nice, having such a big HUD and not using it …
- No Apple CarKey (yes I know upfront, but still)
- Though consumption is lower then my iX, like inline with the smaller battery in regards to the iX one would expect the same range … but it is less so either there is something wrong with the consumption reported or the battery is not delivering the promised capacity …

I really hope Porsche will have a major update in the works it is sorely needed. It drives great, but its software needs major work …

I saw the song title flash once in the HUD for about 2 seconds. Only once, then it immediate went away. Haven't figured out how to get back to that yet but it's down my long list of things to try and figure out.

My HUD permanently shows the current track in CarPlay or radio station. I must have set it in the User Defined View.

Mine briefly displays the track only when I press the "next track" on the steering wheel... how do you set it to display permanently?
