How to Log In as Main User?

Ok, this may be the most unintuitive software system I've ever seen. And I'm a computer guy.

How do we log in as the Main User? The app tells me to do it in the car under Settings >> Profiles (which doesn't exist). The car just tells me to log in with no direction for where to do it.

We already have both our Porche IDs in that user list. But apparently neither is the Main User. We used to get Remote Access on the app but today it's showing No Remote Access from either phone and saying no Main User is logged in.

Maybe I need to remove both accounts from the car and start all over with the QR codes??

I have that problem too. Can't find "profiles." No main user but is connected to my Porsche acct. How did you fix it.

Main user is the primary Porsche ID that you created originally (there can only be one) and all others (5 max) are termed secondary users which would have been created as such when logged in as the primary user on My Porsche App.

Try swapping car keys (used to work on Taycans for a couple of random things believe it or not).

I'm guessing you've already logged out of the PCM and have good cell coverage?

12v battery disconnect to cold start the 12v systems might help.

I don't think there is any option on the PCM to determine type of user as this is held in the cloud, assigned by key used on first login and managed via My Porsche app.

thanks. Did all of that except disconnecting the battery. There has got to be a software remedy but can't figure it out.

Don't count on it tbh - 12v reboot is about it unless there is another explanation ( eg. Porsche server related).Taycan owners (myself included) went through similar random things.

Software (as we know) is 100% not Porsche's strength.

Just saw this. Unfortunately I don't remember how I got it working now. It was back in June, about 20 software problems ago. I do remember deleting both user profiles from the car at one point and "starting over" (I think there's a bar code to scan in the process). Maybe that was it?

I never could get the secondary account to have the right permissions to charge the car either. And like many EVs, having multiple driver profiles tends to screw some things up. So I ended up completely deleting the secondary account and profile. We just use one now. That's easier, because other than seat/mirror positions, we want the same settings anyway. The seats rarely automatically changed to the right positions anyway and we usually had to hit the door button (and hold it down for 7 seconds, which is stupid) when we get in the car, so we just had to get in the habit of doing that anyway.

And logging into the Porsche app to the same account from 2 phones seems to work fine (and gives both full access). So we just do it that way instead. Eliminated the secondary account authorization problem.

I know that's a different problem that what your addressing, but anyway, that's as much as I can remember doing now.
