This is all pretty obvious. Unpredictable policy and limited information makes decisions in the current environment difficult. Who knows what will happen with tariffs, trade wars, the economy, NACS, etc. If you need a vehicle now, it probably makes sense to find a landed pre-tariff vehicle quickly. If you can wait, things will become more clear in the future. I was initially worried about missing NACS, but discovered it really does not matter for my use case of home charging and travel in Nevada and California.
Unpredictability makes it frustrating.

I went to a Macan EV event at my dealership last year that was hosted by an outside Porsche expert.

I asked him about the switch to NACS and he told me that the receptacle is easily replaceable and nothing more than the physical connection. He also said that there would be a free replacement option if the owner so chooses — I’m doubtful of that, but anything is possible.

Regardless of which connector you have, you’ll likely need (or want) an adapter for years to come until everything has transitioned to NACS, so I wouldn’t sweat the CCS vs. NACS thing too much.

Should I worry that use of the adapter will void warranty if it causes a problem.

Hello All,
New to this forum/thread. I'm looking to get out of my 6 year experience with Tesla 3 LR. Really want to get behind the wheel of Macan E 4 as I enjoyed my test driving experience. I want to know if its worth waiting now til Porche converts to NACS (and hopefully when tariffs are lower/renegotiated) as my dealer doesn't have an exact answer to this question.
It makes no sense to wait for NACS. When the tesla charges become available you just need an adapter and no matter what you end up with you will always need an adapter. Get one before the price increase if you can find the spec you want. I had a Tesla X and you will be very happy with the Macan. Save some money now and just buy an adapter when the Tesla charging system becomes open to Porsche later this year.

I think there is more to it than replacing a receptacle @PrudentOcean - on a NACS plug the same 2 wires carry level 2 AC charging, and high voltage DC fast charging. Electronics in the car diverts to the proper system by sensing what it is getting. In a CCS plug- DC is carried by the 2 large conductors on the bottom- AC is in the top on the J1772 plug.

But I agree with others- this transition is going to take YEARS (5+)- so no big deal what the car has right now.
