Issue with app connection with the car

Same issue here. No data getting from the car so can't see the public chargers that are in use and no option to use the pre con etc either. Been on to the Porsche pro who handed over the 4S to me last week and they are aware of the problem. An update was sent up that has messed things up. They are aware though and are trying to resolve with haste. I'm another one moaning about the cold weather and not being able to warn the car though and also its a pain for smart charging as Ohme takes the info off the app which is of course rubbish. Fingers crossed.

No change for me either, hopefully they can sort with over the air updates rather then needing it to go back to the workshop

Same issues here and possibly explains wy Octopus has failed to correctly charge my vehicle overnight as it too must rely on connectivity via the App. All plugged-in as per instructions but Octopus failed to intervene and it just charged up at the more expensive rate. Iā€™m going to try to klet the car control the schedule next as both Octopus and the home charger (Easee) have been unreliable thus far with this car.

Only had the car 10 days and it seems that, most days, something unexpected occurs.

I just went in the car and got a message to say that the hotspot had been re-configured and now I have app services working again - hopefully that was the fix.

I've had issues since yesterday. Got the 4G icon and blue and green dots. But My Porsche app shows old data.

Tried a soft restart and that fixed it temporarily and status updated. But now it's back to being out of date.

I wonder if it's a server issue as when I click to retrieve data pass - it says try again. However the 4G itself is working fine, car hotspot works and map updating on Google.

I wouldn't care but it's freezing cold here and liked being able to pre-heat in the mornings :)
In the UK, until 8th January 10 pm it was fine and I was able to plug in to my car. When I woke up on 9th, the app showed the same battery percentage as before but the car was fully charged. Unable to connect to car until 10th January 9pm through the app. I would not have minded at other times but when the whole Blighty was freezing, I was annoyed I could not pre heat using the app. Even opening the car doors to manually pre heat was challenging. I opened the door, put the heating on and lightly shut the door to heat the car.

In the last 2 months, since I owned the Macan 4, I must have reisntalled the app at least 20 times. What a crap app. I used to share the Google destination with the Porsche app so that the destination is sent to the car. But now Google says, the app has bugs and so could not share. For a premium brand and the price we paid, this kind of app experience is a joke.

May be the people who have designed this app must be busy with their mock GCSE in Germany!

Mine does not start preconditioning either.

I opened the car door, turned the car on, turned it off and then started preconditioning, exited the car, and locked it.

Iā€™ll set up a daily preconditioning from now on until they fix this. At least I wonā€™t be breaking doors and windows.

Funnily enough, after preconditioning started, I updated the app to precondition the car everyday at 7am, and sent the configuration.

As the car was already being preconditioned, it received itā€¦ go figure!

All sorted here as well, thanks for the heads up. Apart from this , been really happy so far. Got an Ohme charger using British Gas and the apps all work well together for the smart charging. Car is amazing. Just hope there are no more data crashes!!

I just entered the car, turned the car on, and turned the heating on and drivers seat on as normalā€¦. Then I attempted at setting up the preconditioning on the app as I knew it would display an error message.

The app does display the error saying the car needs to be off. I the turned the car off (heating stays on a little while) and tried the app again from within the car.

This time it worked. I then exited the car and locked. Preconditioning stayed working and heating was on.

I then set up daily routine whilst the preconditioning connection was working. Thatā€™s what I did.

Good to hear some of you have been sorted, unfortunately although some things are back online, when i set pre-conditioning, I still get the error it can't send to the vehicle. :(

Having moved from running a Taycan for 3 years to a Macan 4S three weeks ago, I am used to the regular outages between the car, servers and app. Ie it all works or none of it worksšŸ˜‚

However, certainly in my case, the issues seem to be different this time. Since collecting the car certain functions in the app work, whereas other donā€™t.

Location, tyre pressures, unlock/lock facility, trip data etc send destination to car etc all work and update, however SOC has never refreshed from day 1, and I canā€™t precondition from the app or set charge/ pre condition timers from the appšŸ™„

I took the car to Porsche Reading who have a ā€œconnect expertā€.
He spent an hour doing:- soft PCM restart, delete my app and reinstall, reset the car three times and then a technician did a hard reset (12v disconnect). Nothing changed. They also checked The servers and the car is pinging and sending some data, but they canā€™t see what.

The conclusion was that the car needs to be booked in for at least 3 days for investigation, as there must be some issues within certain modules within the car.
