Largest Dog Crate that fits in the boot / trunk

Thought I'd share some research for anyone searching in the future. We've been on the search for a dog crate that fits in the rear boot / trunk of our new Macan. Previously we've used the 4Pets Pro range, but the Size 2, Medium we had does not quite fit in the sloped back of the new Macan.

From trying a few different options, the new Thule Allax Small looks to be the largest crate you can get that fits behind the seats and is safely clear under the sloping rear glass. So far our muddy spaniel seems pretty happy! Can be put to one side of the boot to leave space for luggage next to it.

Totally agree, definitely an expensive solution to the problem! But Porsche's own version for the Macan is another 25-30% more, inflatable, and takes up the full width of the boot. Thankfully roofbox.co.uk had a slightly cheaper price for the Allax.

At least it keeps a muddy spaniel away from the leather and carpet

If you don’t use the back seats much, I’ve found that using the ability to make their backs more vertical gives you a little extra space high up where the glass slope is the worst.

Good idea! Did not know that the back seat could be set in a vertical position. I have a German pointer…

That's what we opted for as it's the only one we found with impact protection, more for a small - mid sized dog though.
