Yesterday, I got in my Macan 4S and quickly noticed that I had no internet service. The modem was working because I saw it showing "5G", and I was able to access functions on the car through the app.
However, none of the apps had connectivity. After reading about similar situations, I turned off the car, popped the hood, uncovered the 12V battery terminas and disconnected the black/negative terminal for about 5 minutes, then reconnected. This fixed the problem. At first, the date and time were screwed up, but that resolved inself after a few minutes. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get to the 12V terminal. The Volvo EX90 requires a bit more work.
Question - when reconnecting the negative terminal, I was surprised at the intensity of the spark it generated. Nothing was powered on in the car, but evidently, there was enough load to cause an arc. Are there any tips on how to minimize this if I have to do it again?
Thanks!
Greg
