Macan 4 EV is a Towing Beast!

This is my 1st electric vehicle. I was blown away over the last two days w/ my Macan 4’s towing capabilities. About 2,000lbs load and 50lbs tongue weight using my utility trailer. I averaged 3miles/kWH over 100miles running 60mph! At 1st, I was getting 2.7miles/kWH, but realized that was because I had all the windows down going to Home Depot. Windows up made a big difference.
I couldn’t even feel the weight of the trailer on acceleration or braking. Hilarious out-accelerating other cars at stop lights!
Lane keep assist & dynamic cruise control do still work w/ the trailer on back. I’m using the Porsche wiring connections and 4-pin adapter. I do get weird and annoying alerts telling me that blind spot monitoring is disabled while in towing mode. There is ZERO range anxiety, and that really surprised me. After autocross last week and towing this, the Macan 4 has quickly become my favorite vehicle (my poor 981 Cayman used to be my daily, but it’s surprisingly getting ignored more now!)

Getting 3 miles/kwh is very good. Still running mine in but not more than about 2.7 mostly (without a trailer!!)

As an aside, I too had a 981, but mostly I was choosing to drive my Cayenne GTS. I loved the 981, but the utility and driving position of the Cayenne was so much better. Now both those are gone, replaced by the Macan(s).

Nice to see.

I use my turbo to tow a 7x16 extra height enclosed trailer. Fully loaded it is roughly 4500lbs. Love the air suspension levels it right out.

Depending on how I drive, I get about 150-200km max, The trailer is very tall and I get a lot of stares and thumbs up while towing it!

The 2,000 kg towing capacity is impressive for a mid-size EV. Most people forget that electric motors have instant torque, which makes pulling a trailer uphill way smoother than a gas engine. Just keep an eye on the range since the drag from a trailer usually cuts it by nearly half.
