mine was dead completely... so not exactly the same... for me it was a bad and dead 12V battery. Car. I would say jump start your 12V battery and see what happens. Maybe your dealer has already tried that. It at least worked for me.

So the AA (Porsche Assist) tried everything but got a call today from Porsche.

It turns out that some sensors under the bonnet caused an outage. Parts ordered and should be ready early next week. I'll keep you posted.

My 5 week old 4S just died while driving on the highway. A warning signal, in orange, appeared - “RPM high voltage system severely limited, safe to drive”. Within a few minutes another message appeared in red “electrical system fault, park safely” and all power to the motor was lost. Luckily, I was able to get onto the shoulder safely. I turned the car off, then back on and no warning signals…drove a few metres then same engine failure signal appeared and car stopped/died. However, this time the battery was completely drained to zero when it had just been at 40%. Not good at all.

Car is at the dealership now…they’re still trouble shooting. We’ll see but it certainly doesn’t sound good.

Car back - from when the engineer looked at it took 4 days. Just he had a backlog to get to mine. Was a few bonnet sensors causing system to malfunction. All ok now.

My Macan EV wouldn't start this morning. Last night it had 30% power and hooked it up to charge overnight. This morning it was charged only up to 50%. I could not charge any further. Then I realised my charger Hyper volt was off power. I reset the charger power at the fuse box. My charger got the power back but couldn't charge Macan and it was displaying Charging error. Then I couldn't start the car as it was displaying Electrical system fault. Rest of the electrics in the car - lights, radio are working fine. Porsche recovery AA couldn't fix it and the AA are going to send another team tomorrow to see whether they can fix it my home. If not fixed, then have to go to Porsche.

Based on BfG's experience above, I'd guess that AA are very unlikely to be able to fix it. I'd skip ahead to having them take it directly to Porsche to diagnose.

A similar thing happened to my 4S EV but while I was driving.

The same electrical system fault appeared and then my battery completely drained - from over 40% to zero in a second.

The dealership had it in service for 2 weeks…found over 120 electrical faults, rebooted, checked wiring etc. Finally got it back but they still couldn’t figure out the inciting event.

It drives well now but I feel the battery doesn’t have the same reserve as it did before. For instance, it previously charged to just over 500 km and now only 450 (same weather conditions). Also, after charging, the moment you turn the car on, the range drops by another 25-30km before pulling out of the driveway.

Needless to say I’m taking it back in again…

Thanks but I can't even start the car let alone taking it to Porsche! At the mercy of AA now.

Yowza... My car won't start. It says the electric sound can't start... So it won't let me put it in drive

Exactly as you said. The specialist Porsche Assist AA could not figure out either. At least he checked the wall charger was working properly. Vehicle has been towed to Porsche centre last week and they still haven't figured out what is wrong. There are not sure whether the battery is faulty or the communication module to the battery is faulty. So much for the technology! Beginning to wonder whether I have made a bad choice after 2 ICE Macans!
