Maybe I’m just being utterly dense about this but is there some way to alter what is displayed on the middle screen when you put it in “split” view? The default nav/music/quick functions doesn’t make sense for me and I’d really love to make it two or three items I can select to see instead.

Yes, each of the 3 “cards” can display specific things. Mine displays nav/music/trip figures.
I didn’t remember how to customize it, try long touch on the cards and/or go deep in the setup menu. There is a way!

Thank you. I did try long touches on the cards but it didn’t seem to do anything (maybe because I was driving?). Either way I’ll keep hunting since I know it’s possible now!

It’d be nice if every screen had the same way to be managed. Maybe a little gear icon in the upper corner for settings; you know, something totally crazy like that!

You can edit these tiles when stationary. Just press and hold until a small button with a pencil appears under your finger. Tap that button and you’ll be brought to the editing interface. Drag tiles from menu on the left, click “Apply,” and you’re good to go.

Glad you asked the question. I was wondering about this and am happy to have things now configured as I like.

Yeah, thanks! Tried it while sitting in the garage and it works. I can’t seem to just delete a section so I have only two things displaying, though. Also can’t figure out how to make the Apple Car Play split screen show what’s actually playing but rather what would be playing if I was playing music through the Apple music app. In other words, I pull up SiriusXM to listen to a station, but Apple Car play continues to show whatever the next song is on my last used Apple Music playlist instead of what’s playing on Sirius XM. Mind you, the passenger display shows the correct info, it’s just the middle display.

The CarPlay interface only displays the audio being played via your iPhone - unfortunately, in its current form, what you’re looking for just won’t happen. In the future - if the 2nd generation CarPlay eventually rolls out (and, also, if it’s implemented in our cars) - it looks like that could change.

Yeah, I figured that was the case though I had hoped that if I streamed the Sirius XM via the app on the phone instead of using the car receiver, I could trick it…

Good news on car play 2 is that Porsche is still listed as a mfr that is on board already, so I think it’s a matter of finishing the 2.0 software and getting Porsche comfortable with giving Apple access to everything… I’ve got some inside info that Apple is basically done with what they can do until the car mfrs agree to hand over access at which point they can work through remaining issues, but as he works for Apple, I’m skeptical since it’s never Apple’s fault according to him, lol.

Omg. This changes everything… I found this screen unusable before cause the default quick access tile takes up so much space and I was like “wtf how many times does someone need to change the freaking speed limit warnings in one day??”

I still remember, as an intern, my mentor lecturing me that it’s poor design to hide away a feature like this without offering any hints.

be better tomorrow Porsche 🤦‍♂️

I take it back, this does not change everything…the alternatives I can replace the quick access with are all pretty trash as well 🤣
Yeah, that was my feeling when I saw I could not simply take it away. I’ve temporarily settled on the widget that gives me charge information/usage. You really ought to be able to make it choice of up to three widgets, not force everyone to have three when the third column is limited to mostly crap that doesn’t need quick access…

I’m a bit confused… are you saying you can only change two of the tiles? If so, I’d suggest you try again. I was able to change and rearrange all three.
The interface can get a little wonky. I removed a couple of tiles by replacing them with others, but they remained greyed out in the picker menu on the left. Only after I did a restart of the PCM (hold volume button down for >30 secs), did they become available again. If you’re running into trouble moving/replacing things, you may want to give that a try.

he wants his screen to only have 2 tiles, with each tile taking up half of the screen real estate.
