New Macan 4S; unable to open Power Charge Port Cover

I just took delivery of a new Macan 4S. It came with the optional Power Charge Port Covers. I have been trying to figure out how to get the charge port covers to open without success. I have tried with the power to the car on and off and with the doors locked and unlocked. I have waved my hand over the Charge Port Covers and held my hand over them. I have tried with the key in the vehicle and in my pocket. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I think you're meant to press on the half of the door that is closer to the rear while the car is unlocked.

Yes. I always rest my hand on the taillight closest half until the door starts to open. I’ve had no issues unless the car was locked

You can also open both doors from the Goodbye screen.

i use the passenger side door to charge at home and the driver side for DC chargers to spread the wear and tear.
