Opening sunroof impact on rear spoiler

Anyone notice that opening the sunroof and driving at highway speed results in the rear spoiler lifting to maximum level?
Any idea why?

To balance the aero dynamics otherwise the range would be significantly impaired with an open roof.

First sunny, warm day in U.K. since had car, sunroof open and noticed that the spoiler popped up to full extent once around 65mph.
