Esteemed Macaners (Macaneers?),
I thought it would be useful to compare the Macan VR28.13 update with the Q6 KD2 update to see if the updates were aligned or if there are any differences.
It would be great if you can add anything I may have missed, maybe there are some undocumented changes too? I tried to provide references for each point with the list at the bottom - to eliminate conjecture and subjectivity!
As we can see there is substantial overlap between both cars, as if the software is one version for both cars developed by the same team... There are also some individual fixes bespoke to each car.
Software changes with introduction of MY26
For the upcoming MY26 release there is now some visibility on what to expect for both cars, so I have included the same comparison. Note that this is just for software and not the hardware improvements.

Speculation time: There is a belief on the Audi forums that none of this will be provided for MY24-25, and that Audi intends to politely f*** their launch buyers.
But the language used up front in ref 5 suggests otherwise, whilst still being vague enough not to promise anything:
"...keep the A5, Q5, A6, A6 e-tron, and Q6 e-tron up to date throughout their life cycle".
Reading between the lines the same would then apply to Macan as '28.13' in general was an update for the entire half-baked PPE/C platform. Therefore, it stands to reason that there will be a 'KD3' released for the MY24-25 Macan.
