Almost $700 off at porsche.com.

Still not recommended?

If i were installing a new one right now, I would get a Chargepoint hard wired one. They are rated so highly by folks I trust, e.g., such as Tom McLoughney @ StateOfCharge. And still inspite of Porsche sale pricing, the Charepoint is $450 less.

_ONE_ (not all) of the issues w/Porsche is their ability to support their EVSE products…if you have any problems with a Porsche EVSE they are mostly incapable of providing any meaningful support for their products - for example when this unit can't charge a non-Porsche EV and you raise that issue to Porsche (who I've never really figured out) they will have no response or follow up.

but as long as it's working it's a good choice, especially for a 100 amp 19.2 kW model (which this one _CAN_ do) is a good price for an EVSE like this.

My utility has a $300 rebate for the ChargePoint unit, and I can use it for their Flex program that pays $50 for signing up (the utility gets to stop charging if they need, which they pay for, to balance grid load a few times a year)

Clearing out old inventory for the new and improved.

Assume this or a version of it ...is headed our way.

If you plan to get the new one, don't waste money installing an outlet, it will have to be hardwired.

Will hardwire....but Macan is not scheduled for delivery until first week of April.
Pretty decent recommendations here, elsewhere.....but have not made a decision yet.
Guess I need to make a decision soon as the hardwire has to be permitted etc.

What do you use to charge?

NOTE: _ANY_ hardwired EVSE in North America can be "converted" to a plug based EVSE with this cord from amazon (or similar) - this cord is rated for 50 amps - it's 4 wire, so you just won't use the white/neutral wire.

bulk content moved…

see post #23 here for gory details…https://www.macanevowners.com/forum/threads/faq-north-america-nema-14-50-vs-6-50-new-ev-owner-garage-setup….16974/page-2#post-293947

sorry @Fun TC Driving - I substantially edited this post _AFTER_ you liked it - I felt this information should be attached to the FAQ for NEMA 14-50 vs. 6-50 - and moved all the content to a trailing post in that existing thread - my apologies if you feel I did you a disservice.
