And fortunately it's exactly the same when the PCM decides to wake up in German language mode!

More like "Pour" "Sha".

"Poor" isn't pronounced the same by everyone around the United States. In the midwest most pronounce it phonetically like "Poo-r", not "Pour".

Even at my dealer most of the employees there say "Pour" "sh" without pronouncing the e at the end. It's really hard for me to get out of that habit myself. I'd say at least 90% of people in the US don't pronounce the e, even though that's the proper pronunciation. I'd go so far as to say in the US, either is correct.

I switch back and forth, too. Sometimes I get self conscious and feel like I'm coming off as pompous if I add the "sha".

You own a Porsche, you have a right to come off as pompous.
You own a Porsche, you are expected to come across as intelligent.

Same. The worst is when I say "Porsh" and someone corrects me.

Then why say it Wrong to begin with? I don’t mean to be ā€œthat guyā€ and don’t feel pompous or elitist by saying it correctly but also not by educating like on this post.

Because more people think I'm saying it wrong when I pronounce the "e" than when I don't. It's a lose-lose!

I always find it funny, and wonder what people must think when I say a name correctly, compared to their incorrect delivery. Whether it’s correctly saying Porsche, Taycan, Chipotle, or one of our favorites is of our dog’s breed, although it’s actually a Presa Canario, many people ask if it’s a Cane Corso. Saying things incorrectly just to appease the ignorant does them a disservice and makes you look as foolish as they do. So no matter how many times I say Porsch-uh, Tie-Kahn, chi-pote-lay, or Kah-nee corso, they just stick to their ignorance and keep saying Porsch, Tay-Can, chi-pole-tee, and Cāne corso. They must just think I’m the idiot. Well, as Ron White said, you just can’t fix stupid.
