Every other car I've owned, that supported MP3 playback, sorted by filename. So all my MP3s are in the format YYYY ~ Artist ~ Song, e.g. "1964 ~ The Beatles ~ If I Fell". However, the current version of the PCM software instead sorts by song name (read from metadata), and if you manually select a song to play (like the first one in the folder), it will follow it with the next song in alphabetical order. Like if you have songs "A", "B", "C", and "D", and you select "C", the next song will be "D", then "A", etc.
This is less intuitive than it sounds because, when viewing the contents of a folder, it does sort by filename. But the actual playback order is completely different than the file listing order.
It completely ignores filename, artist, year, etc., in its sorting. So you may want to reorganize your MP3s with that in mind, or change all their metadata to replace the song name with the text you want it to sort on.
