I didn’t bother, crazy amount of money that’s better spent elsewhere.

Nah, It’s a nice to have but the nav is already on two screens if you need it so I never felt the need for a thirdI dislike and never use the HUD on my 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge. I also can't see that HUD when I'm wearing sunglasses. So, I decided to save the money and skip it on my new Macan 4.
I'm now wondering if that was a blunder. Thoughts?
You can also leave the optional switch for regeneration (like I do because I am always switching during driving) and just give the verbal command for on or off HUD, spoiler up or down, etc.You can certainly live without it but I find it very useful. It makes maximizing regen with breaking much easier. The augmented reality turning directions are great. And, just having your current speed on the road in front of you is very nice. I have set the optional switch on the steering wheel to turn the HUD on and off so at night when it is more distracting it is easy to disable. Also, it can be seen just fine with polarized sun glasses.
Exactly this, I already find I’m repeating information on just two screens. Never mind having the HUD as well.Nah, It’s a nice to have but the nav is already on two screens if you need it so I never felt the need for a third
Sometimes, too much information, especially redundant information, is a bad thing because you have to take time to choose where to look, and I find that distracting, which takes away from the driving experience.Exactly this, I already find I’m repeating information on just two screens. I’ve had HUD in previous cars, but don’t miss it at all.
It's all personal preference. I love the HUD because it allows me to take less moments off the road since I'm constantly checking my speed.
The only thing I dislike about the HUD is that at night time, the background (whatever it's called) that the display is projected onto isn't completely black so it is a bit distracting when it's very dark outside. Imagine an LCD screen with a completely black picture, the backlit from the LCD is how it looks. I should probably turn it off at night time to prevent that but day time, it's great.
Actually, you don't need to do either. All you have to do is hold in the left hand scroll wheel to turn the HUD on and off. (I.e., short press is, mute, long press, controls HUD).You can also leave the optional switch for regeneration (like I do because I am always switching during driving) and just give the verbal command for on or off HUD, spoiler up or down, etc.
