My car just spent a week in the shop getting the VR28.11 software update. The security code has been required every time I get in the car since. Porsche of America sent me instructions on how to avoid that but even their instructions ask me to click on an account tab that doesn't exist.
Why in the world did it take a week for a simple software update? Was there more going on?

I think the first 3-4 days the lone repair guy who works on software was out and then they tell me it took an entire day due to numerous failures. They then kept in over a weekend to continue testing after a "resting" period. Then 60-70 functions (they tell me) had to be reprogrammed. I am OK with the time it took and working on a first generation auto is a learning process for everyone. It's working great now!

Since the last update my EV requires me to enter my 4 digit security code every time I start the car. This wasn't required before.
When I search the manual and the app I only see an option for updating/changing the security code. I don't see an option for "Save my security Code - don't ask for this every time I get in the car," or something similar. Any one else seeing this?
So, for my car at least, you DON'T have to go to settings! You just hit your name at the top of the main screen and click the "Changing Access Protection" button to change to no protection and disable the log-in requirement every time you get in the car.
