I was just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar issue to me....

My Turbo went into the garage mid-August for a repair on (which turned into a replacement of) the frunk lock, after the car alarm randomly started going off in the middle of the night every couple of hours as the mechanism was reporting it was unlocked/someone had broken into the frunk, when it was actually securely closed. When the car thought the frunk was open, I then couldn't actually lock the car, even though it was closed. The garage took a few days to identify the fault as it was intermittent, but they replaced the locking mechanism and all has been fine on that front (or frunk!) since.

However - when I picked the car up I noticed that the Sport Sound toggle was/is now missing from my shortcuts menu, and I can't for the life of me find the settings for the sport sound where they should/used to be. The only way I've managed to find anything relating to Sport Sound now is if I set it as the diamond shaped shortcut button, but then when I press the button there's still no sport sound. It does still come on when I put it into Sport or Sport Plus drive modes though. I wondered if anyone else had come across this, so that I can pass on the info to the garage when it goes back in in a fortnight for them to have a look at it (and also complete the rear axle recall).

Sounds like a reset would do the trick.

Not a ā€œpress the volume buttonā€ (= soft reset) nor factory reset - but unplugging the 12V battery for a bit type of situation.

That fixed other cases of items going missing from the PCM.

It's also possible they lost it when applying a software update.
If it's part of the bill of sale that you paid for, you should call up your service advisor and ask where it went, and then have them fix it unless he has a good explanation.

Never heard of an option being lost post software update. Unplugging the 12V will fix that - I’d bet money on it.

Best to get it done by the dealership but to avoid them keeping the car a week looking for a solve, I’d recommended telling them to unplug the 12V.

If the option is software-only, or needs software support (which I'm sure the sport sound does,) then it's totally possible they loaded the wrong software, or forgot to set some code that enables the setting after a full upgrade/reset. Or the dealer may have loaded the wrong software version, even -- maybe there are different software images for different car configurations.

It’s already booked in for the repair. I just wondered if this was a one off issue or part of a common fault šŸ™‚

Thanks! I’ll leave that for the garage to do, before I end up causing more chaos trying to do it myself šŸ˜‚
