Switch account based on keyfob?

Is there a way to assign account based on keyfob so when you walk up with one it switches?

And generally sharing car with wife better to have separate accounts or just one and use the seat 1-2 settings?

It took some head scratching and trial and error but yes, we now have my profile linked to my account and my wife has a separate account and profile linked to her fob. Honestly, I am not sure what did and did not work to get us there . Try setting up your wife’s account through the drop down beside your name at the top of the center display. Option the new account, set it up for her. Make sure your key is out of range, exit the car when her name is displayed instead of yours, lock and then unlock. She should be retained as the active account. Might repeat once more just to make sure. Now take her key out of range and approach with your fob. It should unlock and load your account.

I wish I could be more specific but as said, I am not 100% sure this is what made it finally work.

Interesting, the first three times I tried to access her account I got a message along the line of “ this account is not available, try again later.” This makes me wonder if Porsche isn’t in there tweeting things OTA without our knowledge.

Yeah, I sort of have done that process but I'm not totally sure it is working.
Hopefully at some point they will have in app assign keyfob to driver like rivian has.

It worked nice for me from the first try.
I approached separately with my key, logged in with my account. Then approached with my wife’s key and logged with her account.
Just make sure to create your wife’s account by adding her as a driver (she will get the same app access as well).
After that all works great.

Does this approach load up your seat settings automatically? I asked my dealer about this yesterday at my second delivery and they said it wasn't possible to save seat settings to the key fob on the electric macan, only the ice version.

I tried it and can confirm it works. How is this not easily findable in the manual? It seems like some of the most important setup steps everyone would need after buying the car.

Yep, pretty straightforward to do.

As already mentioned-

Once you have your IDs created, unlock the car with the first fob, select the account you want to log into the PCM with the exit and lock the car with the same fob.

Repeat the process with the other fob using the 2nd ID.

This ought to have been explained during handover.

Dealer knowledge can be woefully poor.

Some guidance in Owner's Manual too.

ICE Macan works similarly and Taycan the same as Macan EV.
