You will likely also need to make changes to conform to regulations (no matrix head lights, for example). A buddy bought an Audi in the US and had to make some changes for Transport Canada compliance. May not be big, but one more annoyance to consider.

Excellent point. And one should not underestimate the difficulty of making compliance changes on modern cars. Access to the tools needed for making coding changes is severely restricted, and finding a service department able and willing to help could be tricky and expensive.

Canadian vehicles purchased new include a "no export for 1 year" clause in the sale agreement. The dealer says that Porsche will disallow warranty claims for the vehicle if made in another country during that period.

Similar in terns of how Corvette is handling the new ZR1 re warranty denial, though GM is not prohibiting just export but all sales even within the U.S. for that first year, e.g., anti-flipping. But the pain in that case does not go against the dealer but the new owner of the car. Sure hope the original owner does full disclosure before that sale who the new owners is aware before they purchase.
