2026 Macan 4 (on order), 2020 Taycan 4S
Country flag
I hope to use this thread to document the journeys of Stealth 2.0. My first Stealth was a 2020 Taycan 4S in Volcano Gray/Bordeaux Red that I picked up at PECLA on November 11, 2020. It was a tremendous experience and gave me a lot of joy for nearly 6 years and over 100,000 miles. You can read more of those journeys in the Taycan Forum.

Now I am transitioning to a 2026 Macan 4 in Ice Gray Metallic/Chalk. I know not so stealthy, but not the Neptune Blue or Mamba Green which I love but I feel may be a bit more noticeable by those vehicles with Red and Blue lights. I chose the 4 as I felt the base version was a little lacking when passing 60-90 and the Taycan 4S made my wife uncomfortable far too often. Speced with just under $21k of options, half of my Taycan.

For those that may be curious my choices were:
Exterior

Exterior
  • Offroad Front Fascia - get another 10mm ground clearance (thanks to @daveo4EV for recommendation)
  • Roof Rails in Black Aluminum - looks and practicality
  • Trailer Hitch without Tow Ball - practicality, note tow capacity increased to 5500lbs (all wheel drive vehicles)
Transmission / Chassis
  • Rear Axle Steering - this was a must on the Taycan and I feel easily useful on the Macan
Interior
  • Leather Package in Black/Chalk - looking for cooler than the Bordeaux Red
  • Comfort Seats (14-way) with Comfort Memory - I find the 18 way less comfortable and you can’t get massage
  • Heated Seats (Rear) - though I didn’t option 4 zone, I don’t know want to ignore my occasional rear seat folks
  • Massage Seat Function (Front) incl. Ventilated Seats (Front) - Much looking forward to this ☺
  • Porsche Crest on Headrests (Front) - just because ;)
Audio / Communication
  • Passenger Display - This was very useful in my Taycan, allowing passenger to research and add additional waypoints including keyboard use. Without affecting central display.
E-Mobility
  • 115-volt Socket in Luggage Compartment - though I’m disappointed in the 150 W limitation, I feel that it may come in handy a few times to run a laptop charger or power tool battery charger.
Lights
  • LED-Matrix Design Headlights - I loved these on my Taycan and hopeful they may offer a SW update to enable functionality in USA.
  • Rear Wiper - This was the feature that kept me from getting Thermal and Noise Insulated glass which I had on the Taycan. It does block cell signal badly though.
Comfort Assistance
  • Augmented Reality Head-Up Display - So looking forward to this, some fear on how busy it can be but most say it’s amazing.
  • Air Quality System - love the monitoring of outside/inside air quality and change recycling mode to give optimal air quality. Also ionizer.
  • 3D Surround View and Porsche Digital Key - when borrowing a Macan EV I did feel the hood was difficult to see over mor e do than the Taycan. Looking forward to the Transparent Hood.
  • Preparation for Porsche Dashcam - decided to go Porsche Dashcam and rear cam.
  • Smoking Package - I don’t smoke, just like the free change holder
  • Drive Assist - A must have for road trips. And now with a capacitive steering wheel it should be even more enjoyable.

Option I miss: Night Vision, had on the Taycan and felt it saved me at least once. Very useful if doing 120mph in the country at 10pm. Hypothetically.

My Porsche dealership was generous enough to let me borrow a base Macan EV for over a week and the whole I enjoyed driving it I can state unequivocably that it does not drive like a Taycan. What I found more interesting interestingly was that my wife noticed it did not drive like the Taycan, which actually she does not care for in terms of its ability to accelerate aggressively, but she does appreciate its stability that is beyond comparison.

Even with that being said, I feel quite confident that the Macan will be a joy and I can hardly wait for its delivery mid February to April 1st. I do again have a PECLA delivery. And plan a full PPF and to take it on a roadtrip from California to Tennessee soon after getting it, over 5000 miles for sure.

The Rear wheel steering is so much fun, when roads are damp, accelarating hard out of a corner from a stand still ā€œthrowsā€ the car in a controlled slide. The result is that I managed to kill my summer tires at 15K km …
