WSJ had an article on Porsche. Two news items in the aticle: Porsche pushed a lot of cars to the US ahead of the tariffs (delaers had accepted 37% more cars this year vs last, with additional inventory still at the ports), and “the company told analysts only that it would honor prices for customers who ordered vehicles with planned production in March”

Price protecting March-produced vehicles would be a huge win for me - I started production 3/27, and it’s been sitting at Emden since 4/8… Reached out to my SA for confirmation a bit ago - I’ll update chime back in once I’ve gotten some clarity.

We hope for all of you on this pricing bubble that the quoted Wall St. Journal is 100% accurate.

Apparently there’s still no clear messaging among the dealer’s team… guess there’s nothing to do but just sit down and keep wringing my hands!

Same situation here. My Turbo started production 3/14 and it's been sitting at Emden since 3/26.

If it sits longer, I wonder what kind of battery maintenance they do (if any) for cars sitting at ports for extended periods of time.

several weeks or more is not "extended" periods of time - the battery will be fine there is no issue. everyone thinks these batteries are super fragile - there is no evidence that they have any issues with even sitting for months.

There are a few threads about this on Rennlist… It seems quite a few folks received word directly from their SAs / dealers that orders that started production by March 31 (seemingly regardless of completion date) are “price protected”.

It’s unclear if that’s just regarding a potential increase in MSRP, or if that “price protection” includes the dealership (or PCNA) eating tariffs that would’ve otherwise applied.

Apparently, within the next 7-10 days, dealerships are expected to receive a list from Porsche corporate clearly illustrating the specific vehicles will clear without MSRP increases and/or tariffs… Until then, I think we’re just working with rumors and conjecture.

I'm not talking about the HV battery, I'm referring to the small 12V battery it has and the issues some have had in both the Taycan and Macan EV not being charged by the HV battery properly when parked for a long period of time. I've never had this problem with my Taycan that has been parked untouched when I was away for 6 weeks, so I know this has been addressed by software updates on the Taycan and likely the Macan EV as well, but who really knows. Porsche would simply replace the 12V batteries that discharge and go bad during transport and sitting idle at ports, so no big deal I suppose.
