Picked this up today. Had time and didn't want to pay over retail. So put myself on the waitinglist expecting a 4 year wait. Got the call this week, not even 4 weeks... Got lucky I guess. ??

I am an old bloke who likes watches.
I have never bought one as an "investment" but still ended up with quite a few!
The only Rolex I like(d) is the original Daytona with El Primero movement but I already had an Omega Speedmaster Professional, bought for me by my Dad as a 21st present before it was sold as a "moonwatch" and which turns out to be a super rare "racing" version from the late 1960s. I wore it daily for years but now mainly wear a Withings Scanwatch I like the styling and functions of.
Anyway a few pictures of some of my accumulation!
I don't like big watches, I come from an era where whatchmakers worked hard at compact movements and fairly sensibly sized watches. Nowadays a lot of popular models are like a hockey puck with a bought in movement lost inside!
This is typical old school and my daily wear for many years, the reverse side is a different time zone.

This one was my 21st present from my Dad, I wore it daily for many years. The original 1960s bracelet was a cheap and nasty thing (worth a fortune today though!) which I got changed to a, then, current one in the 1970s when I had it serviced.
I was slightly disappointed to get the red rather than white hands but I assume they didn't sell since only about 12 of these are known to exist.

I love the simple styling of theis one but it has been horribly unreliable and I didn't bother to get it fixed last time it went haywire.

I like tourbillon movements.

I was delighted when Omega bought the rights to the fantastic co-axial escapement from George Daniels so I could afford one at last!

This is my daily wear when I am not using the fitness checker.

Another one which fascinated my engineering mind.

Solething amusingly silly!

This was my daily wear from about 1990 for a long time, the styling looks a bit old fashioned and I haven't worn it for 16 years by the look of it.

My 1980 Rolex Explorer II Reference 1655 "Steve McQueen". Wife bought if for me Christmas 1980 and I still wear it on occasion. I don't keep it in the original box but since I have it (and all the paperwork) it seemed like a good way to show it.

I wear a Tag-Heuer Carrera Chronograph daily.

They are simply stunning. Began collecting last year as something analog and hand made that I could pass down to my boys someday. Good timing as my Odysseus has almost tripled in value. While I love my CT4S, I am kicking myself for selling my 997.2 Turbo 6 spd. Last of the Metzger engines. Should have put it in a garage for my boys someday to remind them that analog could be pretty amazing and the history and progression shouldn’t be forgotten….

Family friend of mine recently picked up the GS SBGE271, aka the 'Fall' watch from the new 4 seasons collection of GMTs.

I got to try it on and its definitely a beautiful piece in person.
