Electric Macan EV Watch collectors - let's talk watches here! IMG_20220408_230317399

This is a limited edition (#116/200) TagHeuer Formula 1.
It has a black sunburst dial with blue rounds.

A few weeks ago TagHeuer officially modded my watch with the orange second hand and the strap of the Gulf Edition on my request.
Normally the second hand is blue (still have it cuz of originalty) which made it a bit dull.
Now with the new strap (instead of the steel one) it looks exactly like I pictured it.
I can truly say, there's only one of this model now and I think it looks fantastic if I may say so!

Here's a pic of before:

You can hardly see the second hand...

This is a regular Formula 1.

The new auto 57 and a Moonwatch are really different watches. The Speedy pro is a (very) mechanical feeling smaller wearing manual wind watch without a date or even hacking seconds but is one of my favorite watches on earth.
The 57 is similar to the Dark Side, Grey side, and occasional other automatic Speedmaster. It’s thicker, wears larger, is slightly more “three dimensional” in its face presentation, and has the smooth brilliant accuracy of Omegas co-axial movements. These watches do not hold their value typically like manual speedies.

The good thing is that when you have them in your hands it’s very easy to feel and see the difference.
Still trying to come to terms with the “disappearing hands” on my DSOTM Apollo 8. I love the watch so I will likely never unload it. Maybe after the warranty is over I’ll take a page out of Dee’s book & get a watchmaker to swap out the hands for ones with more contrast.

I wouldnt wait until the warranty is over... just have a warranty-qualified shop do the swap and they'll back up their work. I hate disappearing hands and have tons of Seikos that have them and I don't wear the watches or have the energy to sell them.

I'm a bit of a TAG Heuer x Porsche fan. That said, I am wondering whether I'll get the call to buy at MSRP a 992 GT3 or Rolex Daytona first?!

I have Heuer Carrera and Formula 1. Love them both. The Formula 1 has been through all manner of use and conditions and still looks and works like new.

I am enjoying this SNR051 quite a bit. It’s very sparkly in a GS way.

Its slightly tall for my tastes (14mm). Seiko calls it their "moonwatch", but my Speedmaster 145.022 ST71 moonwatch (my favorite watch in the world) wears like a much more tiny, wearable, every-day watch. They are certainly a study in "moonwatch" contrasts.

When I got my Speedmaster Professional as a 21st birthday present in 1971 it looked huge compared to almost every other watch available.
As fashions have changed watch cases have got bigger and bigger and nowadays the movement is tiny inside vast cases on most watches.

I also have a Speedmaster triple date, which is smaller than my original pro, and a grey side of the moon, which is bigger and, disappointingly, doesn't have an indexing minute indicator on the chrono. I like the look of all of them though my pro is a racing version, very rare but I actually prefer the look of a normal one!

Beautiful! How does the original Racing/Moonwatch fit and wear compare to the much newer ceramic co-axial (dark side of the moon?) you have? I assume they wear very differently...

The ceramic isn't very comfortable and whilst I like the look of it, particularly the meteorite dial I don't wear it often.
The Racing Speedmaster lives in the safe since the last one sold went for around ÂŁ75k, apparently only about a dozen are known to exist .
I am currently wearing a Withings Scanwatch health monitor or an IWC perpetual calendar.

Stopped by a local Omega Boutique hoping to check out the new Speedmaster 57,and by luck they had a piece in stock. It was already spoken for but they let me check it out.
