What's the deal with deviated stitching?

I'm curious if checking the deviated stitching box just replaces the standard seat color thread with a different color, or if it adds additional thread as an accent?

I never considered checking that box because adding $3K for thread seems hard for me to justify lol.

That said, the photos and videos I've seen look amazing! Even the simplest chalk stitching on black seats looks so cool. Others I've loved are yellow on limestone, and green on black.

It takes a bold design eye to make some of those choices, but they can really make the interior special. I think one of those pics came from a thread on this forum actually.

Here's a link to the thread with a bunch of pics. But I'm curious if there's more to it than just swapping out the color of thread.

Yeah, it is too expensive to justify. It replaces the original stitching.

I think you're paying for the fact that the standard stitching is bulk produced, thus much cheaper, and if you want something else they either special order it or it's produced in much lower quantities.

There is an only one “deal” out there for us all but we have to first choose a Turbo, then next the black leather interior with turbonite accents option. If we make those two option selections, for no extra charge we get turbonite stitching and turbonite seat belts without paying extra for either. However almost no color deviations allowed. This thread shows some great pictures of the turbonite seat belts.

Here are some official Porsche pictures of the free turbonite stitching on the black leather turbo interior option, with some also showing the turbonite trim extras.

If one choose that path, as mentioned above the limitations are numerous, e.g., no deviated seat center colors, nor choosing black nor Neodyme metal interior trim. One could however choose to add color to it by then selecting (and paying for) colored seat belts (4 options each @ $660), and/or the Neodyme matte carbon fiber door inlays, and/or the Sport Chrono/Compass “dial face” color” (4 options, each @ $420).

But the turbonite stitching and seat belts if you go down this route would be at no extra cost.

Before we bought an inventory car last month, we tried to order one to spec. We selected deviated stitching because we wanted stitching, not understanding that regular stitching was already included. Glad we didn't continue with the order route and waste money on that.

Anyway, in the order configurator, we could select whatever thread color we wanted. I think there were around 10 choices.
