Bit the bullet and got the Porsche rims for winter - 21" with the winter2. Very happy with dry testing so far (5c, no snow/rain). Zero noise, no slip under full acceleration, comfortable ride. This is coming off 22 pzero corsa
Just curious, why did you select 21" over 20"? I certainly prefer 21" sets for aesthetics but the consensus seems to be that the 20" (with the narrower 235 fronts vs 255 for the 21" winters) would be better in snow and ice.Bit the bullet and got the Porsche rims for winter - 21" with the winter2. Thanks for the thoughtful response. 75% of my winter driving will also be on plowed roads so I'm really debating whether the other 25% of the time warrant the narrower front wheels.I'm in the tri-state area where the roads are generally ploughed etc. Id value dry traction/wider grip vs going through heavy snow/ice simply because it's not so much a thing where I drive.
If heavy snow/ice is more of a concern, then there's likely better tire choices than winter2/alpin5 as those are performance winter (clear roads) vs say an x-ice or some of the more heavy duty winter
If you're 75% it likely makes sense to go with the performance winter tire. That's not to say these won't handle snow at all, just perhaps not ideal if you're cutting through 10" of fresh snow. Did your dealer give you the option to select the tires when you purchased your winter set?

Thanks again. Likely good advice to stay with the larger wheel. I've also been eying the 21 Macan Design wheels (that you purchased), as well as the 21 Turbo and 20 S wheels (below). Rims I got were these - https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/sku95cwws600d.html. Don't love them, but don't hate them. Just wanted to get a slightly higher rubber profile vs that of the 22" for winter. I called around to all the tire+rim dealers and no one had any idea of combability for the new EV, and it's cold enough here that I had to go with something (give it 6m and I'm sure tirerack will have packages). I specifically wanted the winter2 (https://www.pirelli.com/tires/en-us...ion-winter-2/255_45-r21/106v-xl-porsche-elect) and the dealer said that's all they had so it worked in my favor there. The DOT build date for the tires is all November 2024 so they're as fresh as you can get (generally should bin all tires after 5y).
Pricing wise it's a rort, but I had no choice at this point. Was 6700 installed.
