Tires possibly under-inflated? That could explain the large SUV sway/feeling.

Why compare a full leather vehicle and say it's better than the partial leather interior? The Full leather on the Turbo I drove was excellent.

GTS has a sportier suspension tuning than even other ICE Macan's, and can't really compare to the Macan 4.
The Macan 4S and Macan Turbo electric's have suspension tuning that is more sporty than the Macan 4 to manage the power increase.

PTV is available on the 4S and I believe standard on the Turbo. Certainly the rear wheel steering addition will also add some agility that you would appreciate.

The new Android system has pretty universally been praised compared to the system in the gen 1 Taycan's, certainly always a little learning curve to feel comfortable with a new system. Granted, Surround view access may be a hiccup it seems.

To me the Sport sound is of no consequence, it is off on my Taycan all the time.

We had a Macan GTS as well, loved the car no doubt, but it feels dated and a little clunky to me in comparison to the new Macan EV. I did test drive the 4 and Turbo for a few hours each and can't really say I feel the same as you.

I have a 4S on order, so maybe some confirmation bias happening, but whatever works I guess.

I have to say that my drive in the two Macan EV's definitely gave me a near Taycan level of satisfaction in the smoothness, power and handling, but not enough to be my daily to replace my Taycan GTS, but my wife will be more than happy and allow me to enjoy myself when driving her car, even though it will be hard to swallow driving around in a Provence (lavender) car, lol.

I think the spec and trim is what may have let you down in direct comparison to your GTS, and possibly remedied with another go in a spec that is more comparable. The Launch edition Turbo's that are available at many dealers for test drive's seem to have specs more in line with your expectations.
I agree with all your points so I won’t add to it but I do think comparing the base 4 with partial leather is not going to show well. We have all driven the 4 and many have chosen the 4S or Turbo because we are looking for the extra sporty experience they offer. The 4 is a great car but to compare you need to move up to a Turbo and then let us know if it feels better compared to the GTS.

I was not picking on the non-leather areas, but the ones that were leather, seats in particular. Even my SA today, sat in it with me and said, you are right the 18-way are way flat, compare to Macan GTS style 18-way seats that are highly bolstered, tight, and chunky to hold you in.

Good point on the 4 not having a sporty setup vs. 4S or Turbo, so spoke my SA today about when Turbo will be available or something with full leather. 2 Turbo slots given and taken by customers. No way they will order a lot Turbo car to test drive. Next time a Turbo will appear is 9 months out per my SA that will be a customer custom order. He said they can order any trim with no problem but the Turbos.

Checked the pressure every time I drive anything. They were showing +4 all the way around since it stands outside, the dealer intentionally overinflates. I agree that having brand new tires that are not properly inflated would not result in proper driving dynamic.

Don't put yourself forward for a job as a professional car reviewer. It seems your opinions differ rather significantly from those who know what they're talking about. I don't think I've ever read so much drivel in my life.

Not a reviewer, just a customer who went to test drive one for a day. I will wait for a 4S to evaluate the driving part hopefully with smaller wheels. The point was to compare to the sportiest small SUV that was 2016 Macan Turbo we owned for 8 years and now Macan GTS that we have had for a year.

The sales figures will be the real teller. My SA said they sold 8 so far who put orders in before it was released, so those customers did not test drive before buying. 80 people were on the list interested at the time Macan EV was announced. Currently, he said there is no more demand for any trim but the Turbo for which they only had 2 allocations that are filled. They have two lot Macan 4 demos that they are staging at different places in town like the Christmas market, so I will check with him after the holidays are over if he sold any after customers drove the demos.

I don't know if you have another dealer you can talk to, but they told me that, the more they sell, the more allocations they can get. One dealer by me showed me their 100+ orders in the books back in September... So these are looking like they're selling well, it's just production hold ups

my local dealer is selling all the Macan EV's they can get their hands on - he's sending Gas Macan's east - can not longer sell the gas one's - no demand - and taking all Macan EV's he can get his hands on…the east coast guys can't sell the EV's - and the West Coast guys can't get enough…

mid-west/east coast guys are thrilled - everyone wants the gas ones…

there is an imbalance in the market right now - and eventually the market's will balance

EV's are suffering a bit of a down turn right now - personally I think it's undeserved, but it's a definative trend - however in a lot places they are selling well, but in other regions people are clinging to the "old ways"…

we'll see how this plays out…

but Macan EV's in california/West Coast are a "sold out" affair - and apparently east of the Rockies not the same - so inventory is being traded…

personally my Macan Turbo is great - it's a Macan that happens to be an EV - it has all the pro's and con's of the previous Macan…

the "4" is a bit anemic IMHO performance wise - 4S/GTS/Turbo are the strongest offerings for this particluar product.

Porsche is running scared and having trouble with the transition - so far they are looking the past rather than embrace and define the future - I personally think that's rarely the winning strategy - but we'll see how this will play out…

the number of gas macan's being sold right now east of the Rockies with a port of entry of San Diego, Los Angeles/Long beach, or Benicia is really really telling ;)

California, Oregon, Washinton - EV Macan is selling well…and the gas one's are no longer viable…

I also don't think Porsche's formula for infinite slices of the performance pie works all that well for EV's

EV's being a new product you need to put your best foot forward - and the best product tends to be the mid-upper range…

RWD, S, 4, 4S, GTS, Turbo, TurboS, GT, RS - it's taken decades for Porsche to hone that formula for ICE's - but EV's are more digital and more binary - the only thing the sub-division of performance like that does is handicap otherwise worthy products…

in my opinion it's more old world thinking that doesn't map very well to the realities of EV drive trains…

I appreciate your review but couldn't disagree more.

I found the Electric Macan to be a significant step up from modern ICE Macans, especially driving. Couldn't disagree more when you say it feels like a large SUV and quality is inferior to the Macan GTS.

I think the electric Macan is a significant step up from the ICE version, which has become more generic and less interesting as it has modernized. I had a 24 Macan GTS for 3 weeks while my TTS was in the shop and it was perfectly competent & decent but mostly forgettable. I also don't think many people would choose the Taycan tech over the electric Macans tech.

I also owned a 2016 Macan Turbo, that I eventually did a fair bit of modding to. I liked that car fine but it never really impressed me. Still prefer it to the newer Macans, but I'd take even just an electric 4 over it or a modern GTS in a second.

I know you've been off the Electric Macan for a while and it sounds like you'll be better off sticking with what you have.
Totally agree. I had the Macan GTS (one of my favourite cars ever), then A 2020 Taycan 4s (loved the drive hated the glitches) and now the 2024 Macan EV Turbo. Stunning look and drive. 4 wheel steering and performance so far is amazing. Just not thrilled with the range.

What’s crazy is the 2020 Taycan I had got 260 miles/ 440km at 100%… would have thought we would have seen a bigger improvement on the new platform.
