hi all, new member here. i got my macan ev 3 weeks ago and am really enjoying it 🙂 i do have one issue i find curious concerning how porsche is handling saving a users preference for drive mode. i’ve found that generally they don’t… which to me doesn’t make sense given they save practically everything else, ie seat, mirror, music, etc… why would i want to select, what i prefer, sport, every time i get in the car? does anybody have a theory as to why they aren’t saving this preference along with all the other preferences? thanks!

That's what Individual Drive mode is for. Configure this as to how you want and then dial in when you want it.

Same on all Porsches.

You may need Sports Chrono to have this drive mode.

FYI - The Macan EV does not have an Individual mode - the EV has NORMAL, SPORT, SPORT + (if equipped with Sport Chrono) and Offroad. Also, from my knowledge, other Porsche models require that you switch from the default NORMAL mode when starting out.

My complaint is that Porsche does not let you store/save any of the pre-defined settings in Normal, Sport, Sport+ or Offroad. You can change the settings, but they do not seem to save for the next time you switch to any of the modes. This was how Individual worked, although still not saving as your starting mode when first turning the car on.

I have not yet tried this, I will make a change to NORMAL and see if it stores to my driver profile.

Search the forum. There’s been discussion of this. Changes made to the Normal setting are not persistent (they revert upon restart); changes made to other modes are.
That’s good to know, so maybe I can save changes to sport or sport+. I’ll give it a try, thank you.

Saving a non-standard drive mode probably violates a regulatory standard related to consumption and/or emissions.

yes, you can but you’ll have to change the mode from normal to sport or sport+ every time you get in the car 😕

This always frustrated me on my 992 and Macan T - only offering the single Individual setup, but not allowing “permanent” charges to be set on the other modes. I have only had my Macan Turbo for a few weeks and haven’t attempted saving changes yet. I only briefly tried with COMFORT and it obviously did not work. I know it’s simple, I just haven’t tried. I haven’t driven much yet, just been spending some time enjoying and getting used to the car.

I have had several BMW M models over the years and presently have a G87 M2. BMW allows you to save your favorite setup in M1 and M2. I’ve sort of made those my daily comfort and more aggressive modes. It’s nice to know i can now save them in my Sport and Sport+ settings for easy recall. Thanks again.

In the Drive menu, for Sport and Sport plus you can save your individual preferences for the shown options, by selecting then clicking the check mark. Normal mode does not have this option.

Awesome, thanks for clearly showing us what to do. Good job on Porsche's part, I must say.

The default drive mode will always be Normal and the only setting that gets preserved is the recuperation setting.

Again this is how it is on the Taycan.

We can only speculate as to the reason why.

Apologies but I thought SC would mimic the Taycan, Panamera etc where Individual mode features - perhaps MY26 will incorporate this software enhancement.

As has already been stated, it's because the emissions standards and consumption figures are based on the default state, and being able to adjust the default state would render Porsche in violation of the rules.
