I suggest you purchase the plastic trim removal tool as shown in the video (much better than using pliers, etc.), remove the filter and take a picture of the part number. You can then hunt down the same filter as Audi or OEM part at a good saving.
But why hunt down a 3rd party filter? I stand by my advice I already gave you above (and other members did as well), get the proper tools (so you don't break anything, pull the filter, mark the part no. which is 85E819439B and get it from Audi for half (or whatever Porsche tax is today). You're driving a cooler Q6 e-tron (much to the dismay of forum members).

Because it appears in Canada, Q6 e-tron parts are not available. And Sergey said third party filters are better? But at this point I will take whatever I can get. I'd even consider buying it from Porsche themselves if they would allow me to buy the part by itself. They keep giving me a quote for labour with it. I'm like, I don't want labour, I just want the part!

How will you update the app once you’ve changed the filter?

I’ll just tell them I changed the filter and ask them to reset it. It won’t take more than a minute for them to reset. If they refuse to reset, then we will have a problem and I will complain 🤣

Isn't this one of the maintenance items that you can reset in SmartService on PCM?

I've previously done this on my Taycan for wiper blades.

“Audi” part is 35usd.
Audi sells the q6 e-tron in Canada

Yes, I just found out that’s how they do it. So I can do it moving it forward whenever I change the filter. I ended up buying the filter from the dealership. Gave up trying to look for it elsewhere for now, since they had it in stock and I could do it immediately. Cost me $158.19 after taxes. Pretty crazy price for a filter that probably cost like $10 to make.

Out of interest how old is your car?

I've never replaced a cabin filter in years - wiper blades yes - should be good for several years. Perhaps your Smart Service date was set incorrectly as it feels somewhat premature.

About 16 months. You’re supposed to change it every year if you want to breathe clean air. I’m already late because I wanted to do it myself and it took me a bit of time to get off my ass to figure it out and do it.
I finally changed it today. The Smart Service is set to change cabin filter once it reaches 30,000km or two years, whichever comes first. Most people only drive about 15,000km/year I guess. But I drive a lot and rack up mileage quickly.

The biggest challenge for me was locating a place to buy the filter. It seems I can only buy at Porsche or Audi here in Canada. Can’t find a retailer that sells the model that we require, which is the Mahle 85E819439B.
