We just love our Macan EV. Handles, brakes, steers and accelerates terrifically. As I just wrote to a friend: “You know you really are happy with your new car when you look forward to a 2:45 AM opportunity to drive it (returning my sister for the 1st airport out flight out of the day). This the right car for us! As i describe it, a “sports car wrapped in a crossover body.”

Not that we haven’t had our issues. Quick re-cap: Arrived at our house in Oregon evening of April 3rd by enclosed transporter from Porsche West Broward (FL). Enjoyed it for just three hours of driving before its software started progressively crashing, e.g., loss of driver’s side brake lights, turn signals, failure to hold major settings such as GPS auto-lift raising, and much more. With the major software update VR 28.11/WSD0 needing to be done, and then just when that was finished, the software stop-sale was issued (ASA3 for the rear camera), we just got it back fully fixed three days ago. Meanwhile we could not have asked for better help from our local dealership, from an almost new 2025 Cayenne loaner, to keeping us informed, to their working with Porsche Germany to figure out the next sequential steps (many progressive, testing requirements Porsche Germany required by them before they authorized the complete new rear center light section to be replaced), etc.

To best summarize, as we did not even buy it from them (our 1st Porsche ever), and with two 911 GT3 RS and even one RSR already in their shop, to have one of their two Shop Foremen personally work on ours at times was a commitment that had us floored. Since we got it back three days ago, we have enjoyed three different trips totally over 325 miles. It is functioning flawlessly now and is BIG FUN to drive — especially spiritedly on curvy country roads. Thanks Porsche for creating such a great vehicle for my wife and me, and Porsche Beaverton for devoting major resources to getting it fully fixed/returned to us.

That is fantastic! I love Porsche Beaverton, and am happy they are willing to service your car even though you didn't purchase it through them. I'm having the opposite luck with Porsche Palm Springs. I TRIED to buy the car through them but nobody would call me back, so I purchased from a dealer 60 miles away. When I called for service, they asked if I bought the car there and when told I didn't, I couldn't book an appointment for shorter than 45 days out. And they are supposedy a "Premier Center." I didn't have any trouble with servicing the Cayenne or Taycan there, but I guess my luck ran out with the Macan.

Ouch. Sorry you are experiencing that. Perhaps a direct contact from you to Porsche customer service, asking them for their help in “urging” Porsche Palm Springs to properly represent the brand and all owners. Good luck.

I am so happy you’ve got the issues sorted and really enjoying the car now. It really is a great drive and it sounds to me that you are a person that really appreciates that. Here is to many more fun and safe miles (km)!

I joined this group at the time of our purchase three months ago. Like others, I experienced some challenges I would categorize as a combination of familiarization (both me and the dealership) and adjustments to the software.

It does appear to me that the posts here have gradually shifted from problems, issues and complaints to ideas, suggestions and enjoyment.

We too consider this car to be, for our specific wants and needs, the finest example of automotive engineering we have ever driven.

Off on a typical Saturday morning errand run getting groceries and other local stops. Looking forward to a little more driving time as we again will take the longer back curvy road instead of the shortest one. Charged to 70% last night as I typically do, e.g., 215 mile range indicated. We have found that Porsche’s estimates are close-to-accurate unlesss I choose to drive next at 9/10’s, it’s massive raining, or other unexpected range depleter.

I'm really glad to hear this. We picked up ours from Beaverton a couple of months ago and was not sure about their service department. We went in one day to have the front license plate bracket installed (our sales person set it up) and I was surprised by the service advisor's response. That is the person made eye contact but did not say hello, can I help you.. nothing. We just stood there a few feet away as if we did not exist. This person was not on the phone or anything. Finally I said hello and basically got a "what do you want?" my wife and I both felt this very disappointing vibe. Everyone is entitled to a bad day but unfortunately it was our first service impression.

Congrats!! My 4S arrived at the dealer last week and I’m picking it up when I’m back in the country early June. I’ve asked whether it needs a software update and haven’t really gotten an answer. Am I looking to confirm that it’s running at least VR 28.11 and has the rear camera fix?

Yes mine now does all three of the following: VR28.11/WSD0/ASA3 (the last one being the rear camera fix). Good luck!

Echoing your assessment of the car's superior performing capabilities, along with its elegant, modern, minimalistic design, I too look forward to getting into the car each time, and I also appreciated the role Beaverton Porsche played. I worked with Nick Roseta for my purchase, placing the order in Nov 2024, and just took delivery about 10 days ago. During the process, I changed my mind twice, but Nick handled it with consistent professionalism and respect, never once tried pressuring me....

I have already put more than 700 miles on the car since May 8 because it's such a joy to drive. To top it off, this time of the year in the PNW with flowers blossoming everywhere, lovely mild weather, taking the Macan on a day trip along the Columbia River or to the Oregon Coast, is as divine as it gets. I have even named the car Nereida after the sea nymphs from the Greek mythology, for its effortless ease, and graceful moves, although the original intent for giving a name is to prevent triggering the voice-recognition feature whenever the word "Porsche" is spoken. :)

Just 2 minor issues encountered thus far... (1) on Day 2 a false alert about collision risk with car in front when I was the only car on the road - it has not returned since. (2) infotainment screen went black yesterday, I lightly smacked it and it came back on.

I am about to take it on the PCH road trip later this week to NorCal, fingers crossed no issues whatsoever!
