I thought the Bose system sounded pretty good. Maybe my hearing is just really bad!

Just to remove any confusion: It's fine for normal (hearing safe) listening levels!
The nice thing about the generally quiet Macan EV is that the Bose sound system WILL sound better than the same unit in the ICE Macan because of the base/lower noise factor in the cabin.

I thought the Burmester sounded ok until I changed the sound profile to driver focused instead of symmetric. Night and day difference for me and I love the system now. If you haven't, give it a try and see if it sounds better to you.

Same with the Bose. Move the sound bias a bit to the front between the front seats and it sounds waaay better. Also play with Stereo vs Surround, some people might prefer one over the other.

Why would you just watch Youtube on your phones and save $1500? Does it also play through the speakers, must be irritating for the driver!!
The passenger screen is usable for all added Android applications like weather etc, not just YouTube. Also I had it on my Taycan and my wife used it frequently to lookup other navigation points and add to route. You are able to type on that screen while in motion.
I think it’s a must have if you have a co-pilot. Also RWS is a must.

“A must if you have a copilot” - i dont agree and sorry but i think this is nonsense, i cant see what that screen gives a passenger that they can get on a phone and im sure they are capable of entering navigation points on the main screen. Its a highly expensive gimick

RWS is definitely not a must either and plenty great car journalists have said this

Please elaborate. I’m waiting on my Macan 4 now. I ordered without RWS and would like to feel good about that decision.

Many benefits, and for the cost, it is a great value. Is it a must, you decide if benefits below do not matter:

- Smaller turning radius at slow speeds for parking and U-turns
- Smoother curved road driving and cornering
- Smoother lane changes at highway speeds

RWS (or Rear Axle Steering) was not offered on the ICE Macan, and I wish it had it as it would benefit from it, as PTV+ alone does not help with parking, U-turns, or highway lane changes. I can tell a difference with having it on a Cayenne and Taycan as they seem to be much more maneuverable than our Macan GTS (ICE version).

I find it quite odd when people order a Porsche without Rear-Wheel Steering. For me, RWS is a must-have feature on any true sports car. The handling, especially at higher speeds, is just on another level compared to cars without it. There’s a reason why RWS has been used in performance cars for so long, it really enhances agility and stability.

That said, I can understand why some might skip it. Not everyone has experienced how much of a difference it makes, and sometimes sales reps don’t really explain the benefits clearly.

But if you’re after the full Porsche driving experience, I’d say RWS (and torque vectoring, if it’s available) are absolutely worth ticking on the options list.

I didn’t spec it because, for me, it’s not a sports car. I’m buying a sporty 5,000-lb daily driver and stuff hauler, but I won’t be driving it like my other “fun” cars.

While I’d certainly prefer the tighter turning circle, it’s not essential. I own one car with a 36-ft turning circle and another at 38.5 ft, and I have no trouble maneuvering the wider one. I also drive an extended-bed F-150 work vehicle with a huge 48-ft turning circle and can park that anywhere with ease.

The turning geometry is also different in ways that sometimes may not help me. Where I live, I need to park flush against the curb. With front-wheel steering, I can crank the wheel and pull away without thinking. With rear-wheel steering, you need to adjust your technique so the rear doesn’t swing into the curb. That rear swing also affects pulling out of tight perpendicular spaces. I could easily adapt, but when my spouse, friends, or houseguests drive it, they wouldn’t expect that behavior. I don’t want a scrape that makes anyone feel bad.

So, I kind of wish I’d spec’d RWS—but it probably wasn’t the right choice for me.

Well, the best part is… you’ll have a blast either way! :)
