As I mentioned earlier. Porsche tracker is no longer integrated into the car or the Myapp. Completely standalone now.

Looking at features I would say this is the closest to what is being fitted if you go via Porsche.

https://www.trackerfit.co.uk/manufa...-protect-connect-s5-vts-advanced-tracker.html

Well at least what was to our GTS.
Macan EV may be different but there is still My Porsche App integration.

Do you not have a "Transport Mode" for example which is accessible from the app?

Blurb from Porsche:

Security Service (Porsche Vehicle Tracking System):

Advanced theft detection (sabotage, unauthorised movement, jamming, etc.).

24/7 service in 36 European countries, Russia, South Africa, USA and Canada.

Alarm notification by text message and push notification.

Remote access via mobile app to set the special modes (e.g. transport mode).

Report alarm via Porsche My Porsche app.

Security Service (Porsche Vehicle Tracking System Plus – requires option: VTS Security package):

Insurance approval

Automatic driver recognition (ADR) with driver cards

Out of interest do you have a Transport mode in My Porsche App (within Functions)?
Nope.

No longer seems to be the case. MY26 Macan installed now purely Vodafone via Myconnected car. FOB still required as No fob - No start system. Tbh probably not massively different then the one linked above
I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same one but just with Porsche markup.

Cost to install is ÂŁ350 with ÂŁ159 a year subscription...

Porsche charge ÂŁ750 plus ÂŁ269 p.a

Big difference.

Really? I swear it was only ÂŁ200 to install when I collected mine.

Apologies. I just checked. ÂŁ546 to install
Think the price varies. My local dealer wants a lot more as they don't really want to do the works. I also didn't buy the car from them which doesn't help.

I'd really rather they had a better security option that allows a pin to start option on the actual PCM !

So i managed to speak to Porsche and to a few tracker companies.

It seems Porsche only really like the Vodafone s5 tracker.

However, i have found a place that will do the same porsche tracker for ÂŁ350 installed and ÂŁ165 a year or ÂŁ430 for 3 years.

The app is now seperate to the Porsche connect app.

Interested to see current screen shots of the app when you get it installed.

I’m thinking they might be fitting a slightly different one for that price. Unless they’re doing it under offer. Going rate seems to be £499 installed with £200 yearly subscription at most places. Check its a Vodaphone S5 VTS+ with automatic remote engine lock like the one fitted to mine.

Yes one is VTS without the immobiliser and the other is VTS+

I need to confirm it's the correct one and then work out if it keeps the warranty and if it's the same functionality.

I think the immobiliser only can be done on the next switch on - perhaps by which time the unit might be removed from the car so not sure it adds that much more for the added cost.

More research needed but appreciate the help!

If you’re planning on hiding an AirTag somewhere, consider a Elevation Labs TimeCapsule. Saves you from having to replace the battery for approximately ten years.

I got a similar one for 1/10th the price from aliexpress. Need to work out where to put it when the car is empty though.

Oh, that's new and I've not seen that with my prior PVTS exploits.

It’s the Vodafone myconnected car app. TBH being an EV not sure how they lock the engine. I’ve had notifications that an attempt has happened when I haven’t had the fob but the car still switches on. Think I should try to physically move the car and see what happens.

The car will have an immobiliser by default and so anything you do with PVTS is in addition.

The "+" simply means that the 2 drivers cards (fobs) that you got with the car can be activated and paired to the car for the additional feature set.

When activated you must keep the the fob with you when driving or moving the car otherwise a silent alarm will be triggered to Vodafone. Leaving the card in the car deactivates the service.
