Don't understand why there isn't a small key in the fob that lets you manually open it instead... the whole 12V recovery system is so cumbersome.
In older Porsches, you'd use the physical key to open the driver's door, then climb into the footwell to open the fuse panel and pull out the positive terminal for the emergency frunk release. Then you'd have to find nearby chassis ground point that your cables could reach (which was difficult with my tiny mobile jump starter pack).

Having the leads directly accessible in the bumper actually seems much more convenient to me. And it would have been a great place for a battery tender connection, if it had allowed for charging.

Having a physical frunk key is an interesting idea if it doesn't require a keyhole front and center on the bumper, which wouldn't pass the aesthetics test.
