Take a look at this assist feature on the new GT3:-

I for one would absolutely love to see that menu in my Macan...
...It would relieve me of some of the irritation of having to turn everything off in different places everytime I get in the car...
One could enable the diamond button to bring up that menu and turn everything off!

I've put a poll on this - please upvote!

But that looks more onerous than the Macan. I have to make two inputs in my Macan; one press of the diamond button, and one long press on the LKA button under the cruise control stalk. That looks like you'd have to make three presses on the screen.

Depends how snappy the touch screen is.

This is a much more intuitive and faster way of disabling those pesky assists...

You think pressing buttons on the screen is more intuitive than two physical buttons on the steering wheel/steering column?

They’re already half way there with it via the configurable first page of the menu. It just needs a couple of additional tiles with options for lane keeping/innodrive that drivers could select when setting it up.

I saw Andreas Preuninger do an interview on this and he said it was a feature only for the GT3 :(

Oh that's dissapointing...
... I don't really get "Porsche" to be honest... Coming from a Tesla Model 3 performance, where everything just worked as expected, and I was a little dubious about the Porsche being a downgrade in terms of being able to live with it... I should've listened to my gut.

Seems the porsche doesn't work quite as expected, and they don't care to listen to customer feedback, shame as it's fun to drive.

I don't understand people who say they had a tesla and are now disappointed with the macan ev.
1) the driving performance, the chassis and the craftsmanship of the Porsche are really in a different league. Who would think of comparing a bentley with a mercedes? the driving experience in a macan is miles better than in a tesla.
2) tesla has been on the market for 10(?) years. it would be sad if their software wasn't yet fully developed. apart from that, i keep reading about mysterious accidents and fires with tesla...

Porsche have been on the market for much longer than Tesla…

Thats true and you can feel it every mile. We are talking software here. Tesla is longer in this game.

I'm genuinely curious as to what advantage deactivating the warnings on the screen has over pushing two physical buttons on or near the steering wheel?

Using the screen is harder in every way. It requires more inputs (to get to the screen in the first place assuming it's not already on that page). It requires you to touch a screen with no feedback as opposed to a physical button which can be pressed without even looking. And your hand is naturally very close to the two buttons you need to press (one on the steering wheel and one on the cruise control stalk).

The only advantage to using the screen is that it frees up the diamond button for a different shortcut.

I hate the latest nannying warnings made compulsory since July 2024, but the Macan is probably the best implementation I've seen for deactivation.
